About the Game

Take control of one of the most technologically advanced factions in the Imperium: the Adeptus Mechanicus. As Magos Dominus Faustinius, you’ll lead operations on the newly rediscovered planet of Silva Tenebris. Customize your force, manage resources, discover long-forgotten tech, and fight to prevent the Necron awakening across 50 hand-crafted missions.

Flesh is weak! Upgrade your Tech-Priests with weapons, support items, servo-skulls and other mechanical augments as you assemble your cohort. Customize your force’s disciplines, choosing from multiple character classes to create a squad for every playstyle.

Engage in immersive tactical combat that will test your mettle under the extreme threat of the Necron awakening. Access your most powerful weapons and abilities by using Cognition points and advance against the enemy without mercy. Fear not the xenos, for the Omnissiah watches over you.

Experience a compelling story written by Black Library author Ben Counter, filled with richly imagined characters and specifically crafted to fit the unique personality of the Adeptus Mechanicus faction. Highly evocative, skilfully realised visuals combine with Guillaume David's incredible audio design to transport you to the grim darkness of the far future.

From aboard your Ark Mechanicus, the Caestus Metalican, make difficult decisions that will lead you towards one of multiple endings for a truly unique playthrough. Be warned, however: the more you explore each Necron tomb, the greater the rewards but also the greater the threat.

Collect in-game achievements and be rewarded with strong abilities that can be used once per mission to aid you in the heat of battle.

Mixed feelings on this one. On the one hand, I like Adeptus Mechanicus (sotr of), and the game introduces this faction very well. It is atmospheric, the music is good, and I like turn-based combat, so those all worked for me. The awakeining countdown, on the other hand, was not enjoyable at all. I learnt to manage it, but being able to deal with something does not necessarily make it more appealing. I would have preferred to explore at leisure. Maybe if they wanted to create a sense of urgency, they should have just made it impossible to save while exploring. In battles, maps with force-field walls caused extra irritation when for instance they separated my team and the enemies for an entire round (once my team ended locked in a pen for the whole round). Way to extend the battle time without doing - or allowing me to do - anything substantial. Who thought that was a good idea?! My greatest complaint is about repetiteveness, though. Too few maps for so many missions. I did 45, and ...

I would say it's not the best Turn based game out there but it's ok. Now that is said, the game is really hard to the point of frustration very often. it felt like a darkest dungeon game where you get into that mission and pick a path. you then get some messages popping up and have to make a choice. You then get "random" event after. It's not clear what will really happen with your choice. Be unlucky on those choices and you end up with a fight at the end way harder than it should have been. The skill set are ok but I wish i could easily compare the item. I will still recommend it but just about.

After completing the game, I achieved full sync with Faustinius. To me, he's by far one of the best portraits of a leader figure in all of fiction. He's literally the glue that binds the cohort of Cestus Metallican. Without him, Videx and Scaevola would have already killed each other or, worse, sent thousands of Skitarii to meaningless deaths. Sooner, I would think the ship would simply crash from orbit because no one would pay attention to the fuel and resource problems. Khepra is one worth praising, for she does think for herself and the Skitarii that she commands, and literally says that sometimes simply dying for a tomb to smell better with Videx's religious incense, or almost dying and blowing up the entire ship because of Scaevola and Teresius's greed for knowledge, is illogical to say the least. But funny enough, she is either still inexperienced or just stupidly good-hearted, because even in prime missions she will never forget to say how many Skitarii died or how hard it...

Delved into necron tomb world. Spoiled necron tech. Got ass beaten. 10/10 would do it again, praise the Omnissiah!

The soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard. If you didn't know that you needed gregorian chants overlayed with techo-organs, you do.

Incredible game with insanely good OST! Some missions can take quite some time to complete and once you get your build/strategy going the game becomes mostly trivial. However the gameplay, graphics and OST make even slog-ish missions highly enjoyable. Bosses are unique and memorable, each of them require different approach (but still, even with mediocre build they are quite easy). Overall I highly recommend this game! ... for the Machine is immortal. Even in death I serve the Omnissiah!
