While most may see this as just another F-Zero clone, yeah I'll be honest, that is kind of what it is, but that doesn't mean it's not worth playing. This game is simple, stright forward, and to the point. You pick a car, and you race on some pretty crazy tracks. While there are many other games on Steam like this, this is a pretty decent one for the price. One issue I had with this game is the controller setup. You can use an Xbox, PS4 and even a Wii U Pro controller with this game, but you may have to do some rebinding and you'll also need the mouse to move around some of the menus, but for the most part, the controls are pretty solid, especially in the races. Now I'm not pro at AG racing games, so maybe I'm not the best to say how well it handles, but I was able to get through races with 1st place without any issues. There's also a track editor, although it seems a bit complicated and there's no intro tutorial on how to use it, but all the tracks in the game were made with the edit...

A decent F-ZeroX clone for Linux+SteamOS (which is rare). Because I am specifically looking for such-a-game, my review will be a comparison of the two (graphics excluded). Setting up the controls is a bit janky: I tried a generic controller (Nyko AirFlo Ex) and I it would not recognize my Joystick-Right motion while many other games recognize it just fine (Momodora, To the Moon, Jotun, Psychonauts, etc). All preset controllers would leave me spinning in circles. Trying the keyboard controls: Rebinding the space-bar is 'almost' non-functional as it does register as a keybind but reactivates the keybinding act for whatever action you just bound (but it can be 'tricked' to work quickly clicking to a different action in-time). It is actually tied to whatever key is associated with the "ok" confirmation action. Finally I tried my XBoxOne-S controller (as an XBox Preset) but my joystick outright didn't work. However, rebinding it did correctly recognize the joystick-directions and I was fin...
I searched for an old-fashioned racing game with SF touch - antigrav hovercraft & such: 1. To be playable by multiple players (that is, with my sons) 2. on single computer/ split screen, 3. with (rebindable) gamepad, 4. on Linux 5. without any shooting and such, just racing, and 6. playable with integrated graphics. I got all of that in this game. I'm actually puzzled why there are so little reviews of this little gem. Game is polished, and the only real question is "How do I get one player on one screen, and the other on another?" I use dual monitors for work and it would be nice to have such configuration in game, instead of split-screening single monitor. Is that possible? Yes, I'm not some racing games expert, and I'm very causal and very occasional gamer (mostly in turn-based strategies and role-playing games). My last racing games were Chequered Flag and Full Throttle, on ZX Spectrum back in mid eighties when I was a kid, and this game brought back some very fond memories of ch...
It is, what it is.
Not as good as Super Pilot, but if you're looking for a quality F-Zero clone for a third of the price, this is your game.
It's not really a game for me. I don't recommend
