Story
Each chapter is a unique game, with its own mechanic that motivates kids. First, they get to know their new friends as they help them with activities like climbing a cliff, feeding their little baby monster, or helping them with their school work. The next day, the Zwuggels leave for vacation. Time to pack their bags!
In the morning, they make sandwiches and soon fly the airship through a mighty storm and eventually make it to their destination. At the ocean, they set up beach chairs, learn to put on sunscreen, and then simply relax, building a sandcastle.
The calm ends when they find a message in a bottle from a stranded cat! A boat must be found, repaired and painted. Together they fend off sharks, go fishing, feed dolphins, tickle turtles and find the marooned cat. Will they find the legendary treasure?
Playing the many mini-games, each with their own unique interactions, your children discover the story at their own speed.
Written in delightful rhymes
“Zwuggels are lovely, joyous things, they’re friendly, kindly creatures.
They’re really small rather than tall
with funny, charming features.”
What parents say about the game
Note: These comments were made for the mobile app version.Kath J., on 2 February 2017:
"Absolutely loved it. Grandson enjoyed it so much is asking if you doing another.. Graphics were wonderful. Each story kept max amazed he's started from the beginning now."
Jeni R., on 16. September 2016:
"My 4 year old's first game Wanted to finally introduce our 4 year old to games and chose this for its cute characters and innocence. He needed some gentle explanation for the controls and the idea that he could let go of things to try them in places but after that, he loved it. His eyes lit up on the second level when he saw a little boy Zwuggel play with a train, enthused to Mama & after stopping, he emulated the girl climbing across the waterfall using sticks for hand and footholds. Full marks from this parent -- good safe fun :) "

From mobile to your desktop
This game was initially developed for mobile devices, and we wanted to bring it to the large screens of desktops as well! For the Steam version, we added keyboard input in some of the chapters, where we believe makes intuitively sense.
The majority of the chapters is played with the mouse, by pointing, clicking, and dragging.
Also, only the Steam version comes with Achievements (Psst, some hidden ones, too).

Sim UK Junior Rating (74/100) =============================== Longevity: 6 Fun: 7 Educational: 9 Positivity + Equality: 9 Replayability: 6 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5qGaWET-kk This game has won awards in Germany for PAEDI 2016 Awards Outstanding children’s software and it is easy to see why that is. The animations and illustrations are impressive and brilliantly colourful, bright and packed full of fun. Ideal for an inquisitive youngster! I wish there were more games like this, as a parent I search constantly for ways to help teach my little one in new and creative ways and sometimes an educational game is just the ticket! PROS ====== - Fun & Educational. - Beautiful animations, vibrant, happy and fun. Perfect for a child’s reading book. - Interesting storyline and characters. - Easy for early readers and more advanced readers to enjoy, even by themselves. - Each time you play there appear to be slightly different items on display in some of the chapters. Okay, I was told that my Half-Life 2 may be a little too violent for my 4 year old grandaughter, although she LOVED telling me when to shoot the tounge monsters. I somewhat agreed with the criticizm and purchased this game. My 4yr old grandaughter loves it, and it is very entertaining. the thing I like the best with this game is that it teaches them to use THE MOUSE. In this day of touch screens, a Click and Drag operation is difficult for many of the new generation. She picked up on the concept right away and became more precise on the mouse operations as the game continued. A couple of times however, I caught her wanting to drag the items with her finger on my 24" monitor. Overall a very good purchase and I will be looking for similar games in the future. Have to keep those grand-kids entertained, and I can always play Half-Life after they go to bed.
Score – 8/10 (Recommended) If you don't care if an interactive storybook doesn't read itself, there's a lot to like about The Zwuggels: the game is a hoot for four and five-year-olds, it has superb artwork and it's a great opportunity for you and your child to bond as you explore the adventure together. Recommended if you're a parent seeking a family-friendly precursor to point 'n' click adventures for children. https://www.choicestgames.com/2018/04/the-zwuggels-beach-holiday-adventure.html
I bought this game for my 4-year-old. She loves it and says it is "awesome". Can't get a better recommendation than that.
This game is too buggy. When my 4 year old miss clicked the sprites a few times, they stopped responding to clicks altogether.
Game now crashes on startup. Not sure what was changed. Buyer beware.
My kids loved it. It was their first point and click adventure game. Brilliant :)
Great For Kids
A wonderful interactive kids game that plays like an interactive rhyming story. It reminds me of the games from my youth like Put Put. It's easy enough for a kid to play, and I'm sure it'll be fun for them since there's so many different things for them to do. They may need help if they want the Steam achievements though since some will be hard for 4+ year olds.
Pros:
+Very interactive +Cute kids story +very interactive +price is definitely fair, especially since kids love to replay games and go through stories again
Cons:
-The achievements are not easy enough for age 4+ kids -auto tracking on mini games (rock climbing and cloud dodging) have some bumps making the achievements for them unfair
My 4 year old loved it. She learned how to use a mouse(tiny travel mouse) within the first stage. Finished the game in about 2-3 hours total. The cues and pointers are just enough for her to figure out what to do, we were never stumped even when she clicked pass the opening text. Its just a sound track so unless your child can read, you will need to read it for them. No controversial topics or politics. Pretty clean, well made, just long enough game. Id would gladly purchase additional chapters if they exist or come to steam. Highly recommended.
