Secrets of the Past: Mother's Diary

This is an older feeling HOG and the graphics are a little dull and dark in some places and some scenes don't look too great on larger screen resolutions. There are a lot of hidden object scenes and they were generally simple with a few items that are better hidden or named differently than expected. The mouse speed is fast so you may want to change your mouse settings when playing this game. The puzzles and determining where to go next is also pretty easy to follow, this was nice since the hint system only tells you if the scene you are on has any actions and doesn't point you to a different location like other HOG hint systems. The game follows the story of a girl who tries to learn about her mother and explores a mansion estate to piece things together. Picking it up on a sale price, it was alright for an older HOG and a point and click game but voice acting would have improved the experience.
