Storyline

The horrors of WWIII are imminent.

It defined a whole genre of games, and it was extremely groundbreaking for its time, but I don't think it holds up very well nowadays. I liked how realistic everything felt - from the physical feeling of objects like the notebook to the tension of having to be careful not to overexpose yourself (since we could die in one hit) -, but moving and shooting felt very odd and clunky. It was so annoying that the scoped sights would go out even when moving slowly. Also, it's almost as if I was playing with someone who doesn't know how to walk, especially when moving laterally. Not being able to crouch-walk is also weird, since we can do this in real life. Lastly, I had many bugs related to mission triggers not working properly. When replaying the first map for the third time, no enemies spawned at all, but the leader still made calls to shoot ghost people that didn't exist. Clearly a lot of passion went into the making of Operation Flashpoint, but it's probably better to play a more recent A...
