Space Hit is a surprisingly fresh take on the shoot 'em up and an easy pick up for any fan of the genre. Pros: -novel shoot 'em up mechanic has you warping from planet to planet while fighting off baddies -warping and shooting creates a very satisfying gameplay hook -decent progression -amateurish programmer art makes the game affordable and, perhaps, charming Cons: -at first blush, some of the visual assets come off as a bit amateur (less so if you're inclined to game jam or flash games) -not super long -some generic and repetitive enemy design

User Reviews
How the duck I got this game, it's not good.
Space Hit is a game so badly made that even the title has a typo in it, the developer accidentally put the letters "pace " into the title by mistake. Anyway, on a more serious note, this game is garbage. It looks like a cool SpaceWar! ripoff (you know, the oscilloscope game from 1962), but it's worse, way worse. You do need to turn and shoot at enemies, yes, but the way you propel yourself is by pressing Space, which shoots you directly forward until you run into one of the planets floating down the screen. If you miss and fly off the edge of the screen, you die. So you smash into a planet, turn, shoot, then look for another planet to jump on, because all the planets are moving down and if you're on a planet when it goes off the egde of the screen, you die. Clearly the edge of something did something bad to the developer when they were a child, because there's no other way to describe this apparent hatred of edges. Needless to say this is a shallow and pointless shovelware game...
