Normally I would leave a Negative review based on the many issues the game has, but considering there are plenty of those and me adding to it isn't going to do anything I thought I'd give the game a Positive review because once you actually get the game working it is a lot of fun. Even though it is super short. If you are a fan of the 2016 Remake and are willing to spend a little time getting it to work then I think you will have a lot of fun. The biggest issue and the one you'll see a ton of talk about is the controls. They are not intuitive at all and kinda feels like who made them didn't know what they were doing and Bethesda and id Software definitely need to patch the game for modern headsets and controllers. - The game has zero camera controls. Meaning they wanted players to use their body to turn. Sounds reasonable right because it's VR? Sure, but no. Not everyone is able to do so and some people have movement restrictions. Whether it be from not having the room or just having...

For some reason after finishing the tutorial and being put into the proper game it is just extremely laggy to the point where alt tabbing the game and trying to move my computer mouse was honestly in Negative frames at the rate it was moving. Tried relaunching the game and also restarted my pc too, before loading into the main menu alone, in the warning messages it was causing the same issue the game running terribly and my pc being super slow. Absolute garbage Also saw other steam reviews and apparently the game is terrible with the Quest 3 which thats what im using so theres that.

Experience of DooM in VR is priceless enough to safely ignore all the negative comments around xD I see the fury very well realized in VR and it was a true joy and fast heartbeat to keep two weapons in two hands shooting to the left and right, doing the mess impossible on flat screen :) Teleportation could be done better, but it's still OK as for quite an old VR game - still this is a small, yet very good way to "FeeeeL the DOOM". As for a few $$$ totally recommended.

DOOM VFR is alright, but it is nigh unplayable without a Vive or WMR headset. You teleport and strafe by tapping and clicking the left touchpad(Oculus Touch translation: joystick); there is a smooth movement option, but i didn't get the chance to try it. You switch weapons by clicking the right touchpad(once again, joystick on Touch) and moving your thumb to your preferred weapon before clicking again to select it. There is no way(from what I played) to change this. The game itself is good, but you better pack Vive Wands.

Honestly I wish I had more good things to say about this game. And this is with every other PC VR game that I have. My VR headset never connects to the Steam VR app and every time it does connect it decides to disconnect no more than 30 seconds after connecting possibly way sooner than even that sometimes. And every time a game has successfully launched which is very rarely, the game just is super blurry looking and lags and glitches the entire time, all the way to the point where it's unable to be played without irritation. Both Steam Link and this game have issues For one my headset just doesn't connect whatsoever and the very few and very rare times that it does connect the games are just super laggy and glitchy along with being super blurry to the point where it messes with your eyesight anyway. Steam needs to do a better job with Steam Link along with this game because I don't know if it's this game or the app itself. for all I know it's both.
