About This Game

The glitz, glamour, and unbridled decadence of the 80s are back in Yakuza 0.

Fight like hell through Tokyo and Osaka with protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and series regular Goro Majima. Play as Kazuma Kiryu and discover how he finds himself in a world of trouble when a simple debt collection goes wrong and his mark winds up murdered. Then, step into the silver-toed shoes of Goro Majima and explore his “normal” life as the proprietor of a cabaret club.

Switch between three different fighting styles instantaneously and beat up all manner of goons, thugs, hoodlums, and lowlifes. Take combat up a notch by using environmental objects such as bicycles, sign posts, and car doors for bone-crunching combos and savage take-downs.

Fighting is not the only way to kill time in 1988’s Japan: from discos and hostess clubs to classic SEGA arcades, there are tons of distractions to pursue in the richly detailed, neon-lit world.

Interact with the colourful denizens the red light district: help a budding S&M dominatrix learn her profession, or ensure a street performer can make it to the bathroom in time – there are 100 incredible stories to discover.

Yakuza 0 is a great place to start the series, with it being a prequel to the first actual Yakuza game (Yakuza Kiwami) It does a lot to build up the characters of Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima. There is a lot to do in a Yakuza game, from the story itself, to smaller sub stories, fishing or other mini games. As someone who doesn't just go for story but plays a lot of the side content first i found myself lost in 100+ hours of that. The story itself is gritty and serious, it really shows you what kind of scum the Yakuza can be and the lengths they go to get money and power. If you have seen anything about Yakuza however i am sure you know it has a lot of silly moments in it as well, theres some in the main story but its not jarring or feels like a slap in the face, its really well balanced of mostly serious and story driven stuff with most of the fun silly parts being side content you yourself choose to play or not. The combat is really great, it feels really nice to have the ch...
⚔️ Yakuza 0 - Yakuza Paradise Found
What I Played: Spent hours as Kiryu and Majima exploring 1980s Japan, doing side missions, and diving deep into the dramatic story. The Good:

Perfect Introduction – First Yakuza game I tried, and now I'm in deep. Hooked from the get-go!
Endless Things to Do – Side missions, mini-games, and more keep you entertained for ages.
The Bad:

Some Clunky Controls – Combat can get a bit messy, takes a while to get used to.
Occasional Repetition – Certain tasks can feel a tad repetitive after a while.
Verdict: Recommended - Yakuza 0 blends a captivating story with loads of activities. A must-play for those who dig deep narratives mixed with quirky fun.

after 7 long years of coming back and forth to this game, I finally finished it and all I can say is.. a MASTERPIECE. everything from the story telling, mini games and sub-stories. almost everything in this game is enjoyable somehow and will hook you up, but don't focus on one thing for long and grind your way through achievement, you will soon get bored. I'M FINALLY FREE!

I'm sure you have read the other reviews so I'm going to give this a different type of review. Imagine this scenario. I was playing through the game when something really really silly happened (no spoilers). My wife walked in, looked at the monitor, looked at me, sighed, then walked out of the room. And that's all I need to say.
