Second game in the Myths of the World series, this chapter features a quasi Norse setting and pits you against the goddess of Winter.  Can you, the Child of Spring (with your handy-dandy Wand of Spring!) rescue the goddess of Spring and defeat Winter? Summary:  Not as good as the first game, but entertaining enough to be worth adding to your collection. 7/10 for reasons set out below; get it on sale (and in the bundle). Pros: - all the standard features of a solid HOPA game - lots of HO scenes - puzzles have some variety - interesting setting (but not enough done with the setting - oops, that's a Con) - decent voice acting, though Winter's accent didn't quite fit in for me Cons: - everything felt... not quite good enough; (1) there were lots of locations, but many of them felt too "empty"; (2) the story felt a bit too forced and too linear (this kind of "rescue a goddess" quest is fairly typical for the genre, but in this case the story wasn't quite charming enough to make up for ...

Oh, how this game gave me so many flashbacks to playing 'Barbie as Rapunzel' as a little girl. I just found this game relaxing. I would highly, highly recommend this game to people who strongly prefer HO scenes over puzzles. The puzzles are few and far between and are on the very easy side, but this game is heavy with HO scenes, so if that's your preference you can't go wrong with this. I enjoyed the story and the game, even with it being on the easier side. Two things I'll say this-this game is very sensitive about clicks. It wants you to click an object in a certain way, and I kept having to click the same item over and over, until I clicked where the game wanted. Another thing, the bonus game (If you care about that) had a dip in quality with downgrade in art, very short and simple story with HO scenes and puzzles that are very generic. I just got the impression the developers just wanted to be done with the game. But still I liked it well enough.

This is the second of the Myths of the World series. In this one, you are a blessed Spring Child who has to rescue the goddess of Spring from the goddess of Winter. The plot is decent enough, the HO scenes challenging, and the minigames fun. Recommended.

I'd like to begin by saying I really enjoy this series so it comes as a surprise to me that this title wasn't as good as I expected. The main story was interesting and had fun puzzles. The artwork was very good and set a great atmosphere but every time an object or scene came up as a closeup, the artwork quality declined and became very simplistic. The same style of art was used for the entire bonus game which I chose not to finish because of the uninspiring graphics. The game was also extremely short so, if you do buy it, wait for a sale.

Do not recommend. Pros Nice artwork/graphics/scenes Acceptable music/sound/voice acting Four difficulty modes (including custom) Mini-map with fast travel Lockable toolbar Gears appear when object in place for possible use Competent adventure play Interactive elements in scenes Collectables to buy customizations for pet Bonus chapter Cons In the very first scene, if you do not get the purple gemstone from under the blanket before picking up the branch and shovel in the pop-up window, it will close and you have to restart the game in order to get it (I was over an hour into the game before i discovered this.) The ermine thing was nonsensical (ie. he chews a screwdriver from a length of wood) Meager story make worse by the following: I am the only hope to save everyone from eternal winter and, not one, but TWO men want me to get out there and rustle them up some grub before they are willing help me on my way. Smudgy artwork/graphics/scenes Simple, easy hidden object scenes Simple, easy...

The game is enjoyable and I had a good time playing it. But this second game is a little weaker than the first one, which I enjoyed more. Pros: + Pet helper. + Sound effects. + Gameplay.
