Yes, it's short, linear, and automated. Yes, it's pretty soulless. You've heard it all before. It's pretty polished though and has a bit of fun in it. Buy it when it's on sale so you can play the Re-imagined or Overclocked mods, those are much better.

This has to be the most cynical cashgrab that Sonic Team has ever dumped into the trough that probably could only entertain the tiniest of todders. It's basically a 40 dollar Sonic Speed Simulator but you can't even decide what direction you want to go or which characters you want to play. Even the infamous Sonic 06 has some things I prefer over this game, such as having content, levels, characters that do things, some laughable story beats, the usual bangers that are characteristic of this franchise, and it even has idle animations (this game doesn't). Forces however is far better at producing melatonin and drool in its players. The only mercy you are offered in this banal gauntlet is that it's over just after the Steam refund window ends, thank you Iizuka-san. Sonic's 3D levels are uneventful straightaways with endless fodder you lay waste to with your plentiful boost meter, some occasional homing attack chains and at most, negligible 1.5 second diverging forks that immediately re...

I bought this game out of sheer curiosity since I had seen it receive a lot of hate on the internet. I honestly enjoyed my time with it. Is it without flaws? Ofc not. But can you still have fun? certainly. I genuinely can't bring myself to dislike this game. The inclusion of an avatar is pretty nice. And I like that they gave the avatar some backstory. Some motivation to want to take down Infinite. Speaking of... Infinite is a really cool villain and is executed well imo. I love stage 16 so much because throughout the level you sense Infinite being behind you and mess around with you. He feelslike a genuine threat. The soundtrack is amazing as is usual with Sonic games. The only thing I hated was modern Sonic just existing. He's a little too cocky. I prefer classic Sonic. (Btw Classic Sonic stages are a joy to play through) Good thing a Mod exists which replaces Sonic with Silver. (Or ig you could play as Shadow as well) I'm hoping more people give this game a chance cuz...

Pros: -Feels pretty good to play. There's not a bunch of gimmicky stuff interrupting the flow and cluttering the controls. Level design is pretty straightforward. The subtle differences between the three playable characters adds some variety without, again, interrupting the flow much. -All of Sonic's dumb little friends are around. Story takes itself too seriously. Yes, this is a pro. -Episode Shadow uses his music from the 2005 game. Cons: -Ridiculously easy and short. I was getting S-ranks by accident on my first runs through levels. And I was playing on "hard" difficulty. Episode Shadow is only 3 short levels. -Chaos is in this but only in cut scenes. -Congrats on finishing a level. Now press A 10 times in a row to look at several pieces of clothing. Overall, playing this just feels better than Colors and Lost World. So, qualified positive review. Just don't be surprised when you finish this in one sitting.

The game is so short you can easily beat it in 2 hours The game lacks a lot of polish, sometimes stuff kills you that you couldn't avoid without knowing it's there beforehand. Asking for 40$ when it's not on sale is insane, I got it for 10$ and I still want a refund. I've heard you can mod it to make it better, but that doesn't make the base game any less awful. The OST is good, but I'm sure you can listen to it for free. The character customization isn't that great, even mii maker is better. Almost forgot to mention that half the game is pressing the enter button to close the new item pop ups after every single action you do. Might be the worst Sonic game

not a terrible game, but consistently boring, too short and the level design the avatar was neat tho, and the ost is good

The visuals are alright, the gameplay is Sonic Lost World's physics pretending to be generations physics, in level design that ranges from braindead to actively bad in the context of the movement physics, and the story is the sloppiest and most self contradicting mess I've seen in a game The character customization would be nice if you didn't have to grind the levels to unlock things in it. And Infinite is a lame antagonist on every level, only given any level of threat through the game running it circles contradicting itself about what the Phantom Ruby can do, while being more stereotypically edgy than Shadow is, with no soul to back it up. I won't play this game again without being paid 1000 dollars to do so.
