My Risk of Rain 2 experience in a nutshell: -friend tells me to buy game -le buy -friend teaches me about every item and we go on multiple 3-4 hour loop runs, or until one of our PCs crash -try eclipse -get folded by eclipse 3 -no play for months -tell dad about the game -dad doesnt like, he has poor boomer taste -tell other friends about game -friends get game -I teach friends about the game -let them get OP w/ artifact of command -friends now play even when im not on -they beat Mithrix -am proud, they grow up so fast 11/10

I have an interesting relationship with Risk of Rain 2 and Risk of Rain in general. It was a game that my late uncle recommended to me before he passed. So I picked it up, bought a few copies for friends, and goddamn it if it wasn't a fantastic recommendation. He was awesome, I just wish I spent more time with him. But I digress. Risk of Rain 2 (And Risk of Rain as a series in general) are games with a rich lore, fantastic gameplay loop, and an absolutely amazing community. I've given 500+ hours of my life to this game. It's fantastic with friends and I've loved every run I've had with them. Hell, even if the base game isn't your cup of tea, the Risk of Rain modding community is immense and makes some of the best modded content I've seen for a game of this caliber. If you prefer something more official, the game's DLC which is 100% worth the money and adds a wealth of new content that expands on a lot of the series' lore and adds some pretty cool items and the sort to the mix. ...

bought it for a friend and here he's persuading me to play too: honestly, i did not expect this game to be THIS awesome! you start slow by unlocking items, trying new survivors and their powers getting familiar with maps, layouts and mechanics (all the necesary information is right in the logbook) then you start experimenting with builds and artifacts, looking for secrets, exploring and finally you start pushing the limits becoming so incredibly strong that it feels bad to end the run as it's been several hours straight fantastic experience with limitless replayability! now it helps me alot through depression, ty

Gearbox really ruined what was a really fun game, just consistent half baked updates and some bad policy changes.

Gearbox should be held accountable for ruining this beautiful game. your souls shall be consumed by your unmeasureable greed.

It really pains me to do this, but Gearbox is rotting the game from the inside-out. They're literally using the current positive reviews as a facade. Leave this game alone and make a Risk of Rain 3 that's dull and boring like Borderlands is now. Let a new game reflect your practices instead of rotting a great one.

For the love of god have a good PC cause this game can and will eat your frames like fucking cherrio's when on multiple loops, but besides that its a great game with a great price. DLC Void and False sun both add unique twists that would make the game more fun. Community mods can make the gameplay loop feel eternal with no bore of characters, items, and skills. look up some end game runs to see how chaotic this game can get

I replayed this game because of the new DLC, and god, I forgot how good this game is. You get so much content for around 2GB. The phrase "and his music was electric" is the superb banger ost this game has, my favorite is (Once in a Lullaby), Chris Christodoulou was cooking. Recommend playing this game.
