About the Game

Hellpoint is a dark sci fi RPG that takes place on a derelict space colony in the aftermath of a massive quantic cataclysm. You play a Spawn of the Authority brought to this world to investigate the circumstances of this event and unravel this deep interstellar intrigue. You will explore the open world of the Irid Novo colony, orbiting in real time around an enigmatic black hole which triggers all sorts of dynamic events to keep you on your toes. Build your warrior according to your play style, and venture alone, with or against friends in online or split screen multiplayer.

Once a pinnacle of human achievement, the Irid Novo space station has fallen. Its ruins are now overrun by cruel interdimensional entities acting as puppets of the malevolent Cosmic Gods.

You have been created by the Author, organically printed on Irid Novo and sent on a mission to find out the unholy series of events that led to the catastrophic incident known as the Merge.

  • Irid Novo is a massive interconnected world full of mysteries, hidden passages and secrets within secrets - all for you to explore in any order you like. More dread and shivers awaits you as you travel deeper into the darkest corner of this forsaken colony.

  • Dozens of melee and ranged weapons and armor pieces to suit your playstyle. Every weapon has unique special abilities that unlock the more you fight with them.

  • A fascinating new sci fi universe reminiscent of classic sci-fi movies, set in the aftermath of a massive quantum cataclysm and complete with a deep lore and goosebump inducing soundtrack.

  • The space station orbits in real time around an ominous black hole that triggers various dynamic events such as boss appearances, horde assaults as well as modified enemy stats and positions.

  • If you are struggling, ask a friend to press Start to join in a couch coop session, or call for assistance online. The entire game can be completed uninterrupted in coop. The loot is shared, and the experience of local player two is saved and not watered down.

Rating: 6/10 Platinum: Yes. DLC needed. Had to co-op with myself to get all coins due to a bug. Would I play again? Unlikely Likes: Interesting concept of a souls like with a spacefaring twist and a link to hell. The lore is brilliant, the environment is well crafted, and be sure to check what secret doors look like because there are a LOT of them in this game. Also like the idea of defeating enemies gradually filling your “healing flask.” I would like more people to play this game solely to get more theory’s on the lore, sadly YouTube was lacking in this department and I love investigating others thoughts and opinions on complex stories. Dislikes: While I appreciated the combat, I didn’t really enjoy any weapons until I got a big, sparkly sword from the DLC. The weapon abilities were lacklustre and as a strength build I felt there were few choices to personalise my build or make it shine. During my second run I had a lot of stuttering, lag and a few crashes, so I wasn’t impr...

I liked the game, I don't know why there are so many contradictory reviews about it. I played different souls like games and this game reminds me a lot of the first Dark Souls, only in space. The atmosphere of the space station is very good and I liked Hellpoint more than The Surge which had a similar atmosphere. There are different interesting ideas in Hellpoint, many locations have shortcuts to other locations. But it would be nice to have at least some notes with a diagram of the connections between locations. I often had a problem that I didn't remember how to get to a certain location and had to search for maps on the Internet to understand where to go and how to get to the place I needed. I was also confused by the enemies like fish, they don't fit into the game at all. I was also wildly annoyed by the camera in some narrow corridors, because you can't see anything and can get stuck in a crowd of enemies. And also the height of the fall was very annoying, because visually it ...

This game is enjoyably Difficult, the affinity system the weapons use make them interesting to use, and the low cost of resetting stats at the pool make them game easy to pickup. the hit boxes require sum getting used to, but it's rewarding when you find your build :3

Beautifully crafted universe : a master class in level design Navigating through different lelvels is a thrully unique experience. While you advance through any level there are a lot of branching paths offered to you with numerous hidden passages and shortcuts. It can be a maze but it is extremely fun to explore. Moreover, the use use of the verticality adds to this experience. There are numerous platform that you can jump from and those sections are quite challanging but ulimately reward you with a piece of lore, an interesting item, or a boss fight. You have an impression to explore a floating city in space. I feel that getting from one check point to the next is the main challange of this game, but the boss fights are generally on the easy side of the spectrum among the souls like games. Indeed, usually the bosses do not move very fast and have well telegraphed attacks. The combat feels very smooth and there is a sufficient weapon variety. Also, the weapon upgrade system allows y...

Do you like lots of meaningful exploration? In a souls-like? With demons constantly chasing your tail? In space next to a black hole? Then you are in for a treat. I doubt you will find many other souls-likes with exploration that comes close to this. And what is most impressive is that it is done on a shoestring budget. This means that there are some bugs and production values could be a bit better, but to be honest none of that got in my way. It is also one of the few souls-likes that has a very good balance between ranged and melee if you prefer to go for both at the same time. Completed the "true ending" and the blue sun dlc. The latter adds some nice new environments to explore.
