Genghis Khan II: Clan of the Gray Wolf

About 1996 I've played the pirated version , so I bought the copyright as I see it. The trial's music is very good, full of Mongolian style. The second and third scenario is Euroasian wide, KOEI tried with Royal Blood and then developped better version. KOEI did developped a lot good historical games in the 1990's, wish Napoleon and the war of independence of USA would also be on the market here, those games of 2mb were fantastic. By The Way, I regard Yuan Dynasty a Mongolian Xenocracy, which is conquerer, not native Chinese.

This is in a foreign language to me, so I cannot play it on steam. However, it is abandonware so I downloaded it for free (very easy to find). I also downloaded the manual too. Both are in English. To play the game, I needed to download dos box, and this was also for free. I unzipped the game file, and dragged the "Koei" file onto the dos box icon on my desktop. This starts the game. I pressed Alt+Enter to maximise the screen. I have bought it on Steam as I feel it's only fair to pay for the game. The game is just how I remembered it from the 1990s. What's the game about? You control a nation on the world map. You are a character in the world with skills. You have action points to spend each season. You spend these to manage your nation, its army, your generals, and spend time with your family. It's like a basic Crusader Kings. Except you can control your armies in battles. This mess of a game is exactly what I think about KOEI, a complete poop pile. The original game is one of my favorites of all time and was translated into english, how hard is it to localize the PC version that was released decades later? But being a fan, I was just going to weather the translation issue anyway but ended up getting a message that translates "insert disc into the second drive"... Why did you even release it in this state, you bunch of clowns?

A well designed game, can beat lots of modern games if operate smoothly. However there are still important issues left unattended.
