I downloaded this to palate cleanse from FH5 Eliminator mode, and was pleasantly surprised to see that 20 years after release the game received some patches improving widerscreen and controller support, and also received support for Steam Workshop. It runs flawlesly of a modern rig, and while short, is just crazy fun, as a game should be.

Still the best Flatout game, though steering can be quite challenging at times.

[h1] Not many other racing games allow you to destroy the entire vehicle and then keep driving it. [/h1] Alllll those other supposedly 'superior' racing games, with their fancy graphics and gameplay - they don't hold a CANDLE to this game! If you crash one of their cars, they just put you back in the race with a brand new car! Yes, but here, we can lose the doors, the hood, the engine can be on fire, smoke everywhere, poor tires were wobbling during most of the race, poor driver character's been thrown, and we can KEEP DRIVING THIS CAR! It's the racing game for which I've been waiting! Some other people may drive this car better than I, but I'd have to say, I've never laughed so hard. Then, there was a fantastic, odd, replay of the thing, which made me laugh so hard, I had tears coming out of my eyes. I love this dear game; it's close to my heart.

Just so good. You need to play this one.

Good game. The only bad thing I could say is that it doesn't appear to play well with my Steam controller. The controls via keyboard are OK.
