I will buy and play basically any local co-op game, especially ones that have more than two players. Boss Defiance looked like an interesting twist on the game Crawl, where one player is the hero and the others control dungeon traps and monsters. In Boss Defiance, one player is the boss and the other players are heroes. You race through the stages trying to kill the boss or destroy the dungeon crystal before the other side wins. Boss Defiance owes a huge debt to Crawl (to the point of feeling like a knockoff), which is not a perfect game but is leagues ahead in fun and polish. This feels like an early alpha. The bosses and characters are unbalanced, some being completely useless; the hit detection and gameplay are off; and there's little sense of motion or feedback. There's a kernel of a good idea at the core of this game, but it doesn't get close to being fun.

Good couch party game, fun to play and to watch. Graphics are good , gameplay is perfect with multiple gamepads (but you can use a keyboard for multiple players, in case). Playable with 3+ friends Kudos to the team for the price tag, recommended

After playing CRAWL, another fantastic asymmetric multiplayer game, my friends and I thought "wouldn't it be great if there was a mode where you got to choose a monster to fight against the heroes, and kept that monster throughout the entire series of fights as they moved through the dungeon, instead of having to frantically compete against the other players to get access to becoming something fun?" And then we saw this game. And it turns out the answer to that question is "YES, it is GREAT!". If you want to be able to choose a group of heroes, and then travel through a dungeon fighting a specifically chosen monster, all to the beauty of amazing pixel art, then HELLS YEAH this game is perfect for you! We love it. Full controller + Steam Link support. Note: There are some reviews that discuss balance may be off for some bosses/heroes. At first, my gaming group felt like that a few times (at one point for a boss, other times for a hero), but after longer sessions and getting used to...

I dont mind buying games and keep them even if I wont play them afterwards but I will definitely not keep an half assed game that doesnt even have bots implemented or any content. 3 bosses? 1 game mode?... and the bosses design are so lackluster.
Awwww, come on. It always needs multiple players to be played. And there is no online multiplayer mode, so you gotta have people next to you or invite someone over remote play together to play it every time you want to.

Great idea, bad execution. Feels like playing Pong. Great artwork and a base. If they put a lot more time into developing the gameplay this could be good.
