About This Game

Moonfall is a hand-painted side-scrolling 2D action RPG beat'em up set in an industrial gothic universe named Terra Nihil. It tells a story of a once small Empire at the peak of its glory attained by a mysterious element called Lunarium that suddenly experiences a surge in attacks from so-called Savages, aboriginal tribes living outside its borders.

Features

 • Beautifully hand-painted 2D graphics full of details and dark atmosphere.
 • 3 classes with unique active and passive abilities. Gaining experience points by killing monsters and completing main and side quests.

 • 13 open-ended and fully explorable levels with elements of the metroidvania genre, variable content of quests, boss fights and notes expanding the lore.
 • Over 80 unique items constiting of swords, axes, daggers, armors, helmets, boots, rings and so on with their own atributes.
 • Over 60 enemies divided into two categories - common and elite.
 • Multiplayer arenas, defend mode and cooperation as a free update in the future.
 • Immersive orchestral soundtrack with catchy melodies and melancholic ambient.
 • Full Xbox 360 and Xbox One Controller support.
 • Achievements and trading cards.

Genre - Fantasy Steampunk 2D Scrolling Action I grew up in teh 80s when many games of this ilk were around. I used to love the old Golden Axe, Double Dragon and Barbarian games as examples. This game stays true to the age old fomula, but adds some character development and an inventory system for modern gamers. I have spent about 8 hours on the game trying out all the characters and completing once on easy mode wuth Shadow. It is a fun game and I feel I got my monies worth with one playthrough taking about 5 hours on easy. The characters are varied and the items/weapons allow you to adapt your style. The main enemies are split into three types; Tribal, Skeletal and Goblins. Each has there own boss, which I won't spoil here. They aren't that varied but it does feel like the enemies are changing as you progress. There are a few hazards to avoid or use against your enemies. There is also a mini-map with a few optional objectives thrown in. I found the game fun, and if you are an old ...

https://youtu.be/pktUrptYiKU As far as a 2D beat em up goes, Moonfall is... interesting. The graphics are in a hand drawn art style that I actually do like. They are well done and maintain the consistency needed. The core framework of the game is highly stable, with no bugs or framerate drops to be found. The overall gameplay is serviceable, but slow. The game's controls I found to be counter-intuitive and the game felt like I was fighting through treacle and were reasonably unresponsive. Also the english translation was poorly done and while it did end up creating some hilarious moments, it was distracting and sometimes led to my having to decipher what the intended phrase I was reading was supposed to say. It's a good enough game for $10, but did little to wow me. It wasn't bad, but just slightly above "Meh". 6/10

This game is something you would expect to fill your evening with a little bit of magic, darkness, skeletons and not so complicated plot line. The game itself is really good, the concept isn't anything new. Graphics are immersive, beautiful and the music is wonderful. You can choose from 3 classes (I have tried Elementalist so far), each one has something which I'd call a talent tree with like 4 basic spells + 5 passives which can be upgraded. The game is entertaining and gives you a little bit of that "old game" feeling while being graphically on a higher level. I am sure you will find it quite challenging, especially from the start until you get to Moonfall's mechanics. I encountered a few bugs - the last one actually prevents me from completing (the mechaboss doesn't spawn) so I at least have a reason to play it again, but I am sure devs are gonna fix these issues. It's just a matter of time for a game this young, so it doesn't really count on the rating -> Pros: + graphics + music ...

Moonfall is a surprisingly enjoyable 2D scoller hack n slash with weapons/power upgradability to help defeat adversaries + minor RPG elements. The games rare mix of Golden Axe + minimal RPG creates an involving, atmospheric game. On the normal mode which I have been playing on, the game was well balanced + not so difficult that progress was impeded progress signifficant time lengths. (remember to buy health potions) Graphics are great. Combat intuitive. Controls intuitive. Gameplay engaging. Music + sound terrific. The one flaw I could find in Moofall, so far, was the fact it is not really necessary to read much dialogue. You will still succeed simply by adventuring. I have not yet completed the game but find it interesting so will continue playing until I do. Overall, pleased with the purchase.

Moonfall is pretty nice game with excellent graphics. Solid RPG system is implemented in hacks and slash beat em up style of the game. I tried all of classes and it was fun. Maybe a little longer scenarios or all the game would be great but for that money it was fun for me. The game is a little slower than other funny hack and slash but animations are amazing and music was awesome. There are lack of various exterior levels...not so many and generally color of them is for me like..still the same. I was surprised that there is no jumping in the game. Local coop is also missing although promised by the developer. Game would be nice to play with other players. After all I would recommend this game for its promising concept. A lot of things was promised by developers so we will see.

Its not bad. 2D side scroll RPG-ish type game. Nothing ground breaking but worth the $8 I paid for it. Its a fun time killer, which I suppose is the ultimate goal of these types of games.

I enjoyed playing this game, but there are more things which could be done better. I hope for next great games from these devs. PROS: [*] it's a side scrolling beat 'em up !! [*] big bosses [*] most of the graphics are really pretty painted [*] music is nice [*] game was made by slovak team :) CONS: [*] some strange sound FX and voices [*] map (I did not like it at all) [*] games is quite short [*] game can be completed even by chaotic running/slashing, there are very little harder passages [*] some really weird animations (for example the game ending) And the biggest CON is - There is NO COOP MODE !!! Please do it !

It's a nice action RPG. The movement throughout the maps is great. I think it makes the best out of the 2D art and resources available. It's worth the money if the developer keeps improving the game. Seems like a good base to keep building on. My big ask: make it so that I can customize my own controls. Not having the ability to use the mouse makes it harder to control. Especially throughout the UI. Things to improve... Combat - A little too monotone and repetitive - Animations for attacks are good - Animations for Skills are lacking Loot System - Can be improved - Didn't get any decent drops or anything to get excited about in about an hour of play - Items don't look that good or pretty Controls - Please allow players to customize controls
