Never thought a point and click adventure game would have me butt clenching from stress but here we are. It's VERY good from the writing to the gameplay itself. The puzzles are fairly intuitive and while the looming countdown can be stressful, it's generous if you know what you're doing. If you ever happen to mess up however, there is a save and load system. The game also has good replay value, but i'm not going to say much more than that to not ruin the fun, and you shouldn't ruin yours too. Spare yourself the spoilers and play the game blind.

About This Game
Following a bizarre cataclysmic event that cracked the moon in half, the Earth is struggling with the environmental fallout. Everything is already dead or dying... except you. Or so you think. Don't Escape: 4 Days to Survive is a post-apocalyptic thriller from veteran developer Scriptwelder, creator of the popular horror series Deep Sleep and Don't Escape. Players must figure out a way to properly fortify their home against each night's new danger, as they learn the truth behind the apocalypse and search for a way to safety, if one exists.
Players will journey alongside David, a lone survivor after the end of the world, who finds himself having prophetic dreams... or nightmares. Each chapter of the game has multiple potential variations to encounter, from poisonous fog or spiders to a gang of murderous thugs or a deadly heat wave, and as a result, you'll need to adjust your strategy on different playthroughs. But you don't have forever. Certain actions advance the in-game clock, and you'll need to complete your preparations to (hopefully) stay alive before night falls.
Will you make it through all four days? Will your companions?
Features:
- A classic pixelart aesthetic and creepy atmosphere from a veteran of horror and thrillers.
- Logical puzzles and exploration to challenge players without frustrating them.
- Time mechanics; certain actions advance the clock in a race against time.
- A post-apocalyptic thriller, with an engaging storyline and cast.
- Moody and engrossing original musicial score.
- Multiple variations for each chapter mean multiple playthroughs with new content.
About the Developer:
Poland-based developer Scriptwelder is a well known creator of creepy web-based games, perhaps the most iconic of which is the Deep Sleep series, which has won multiple awards and been played by millions all around the world. The Don't Escape series began as a web game that inverted the classic escape-the-room formula... rather than trying to find a way out, players were instead trying to find a way to secure themselves within, usually from some sort of threat or danger. Don't Escape: 4 Days to Survive is his first full length premium game.

Ambition That Falls Apart in Execution Don’t Escape: 4 Days to Survive immediately stood out to me as something special on paper. A point-and-click adventure mixed with survival mechanics, where every decision matters and the looming apocalypse forces you to manage resources, time, and choices across four tense days — that’s a fantastic concept. Unfortunately, while the ambition is clear, the execution didn’t deliver the satisfying experience I was hoping for. The gameplay is where things started to wear thin. Instead of feeling like clever survival puzzles, many of the tasks boil down to tedious trial and error. You’re constantly juggling time management and preparation, but the mechanics often feel unforgiving rather than challenging. Make a small mistake or miss a detail, and entire runs can collapse, forcing you to replay long stretches. What could have been tense and exciting quickly turns into repetitive backtracking and frustration. The narrative setup is intriguing...
One of the best survival story based games I've ever played. Very strategic and surfaces a lot of trial and error and all I'm all for it!
weird ass pixel art but still fun
This game has such a good story it's criminal! It keeps you nailed to your pc for waaaaay too long! Great time, would recommend!
Don't Escape: Four Days to Survive is the highly competent spiritual successor to the point and click adventure games of the past. I never played the earliest iterations within this genre, but I did play the original Don't Escape trilogy (albeit close to or possibly after the deprecation of Flash), and if you haven't played them then I highly recommend you do so. In brief, Don't Escape 1 was the origin of the name of the series (as you try to prevent yourself from escaping a cabin before you turn into a werewolf, escape, and absolutely destroy the small Polish town of Chrząszczyżewoszyce in the district of Łękołody), Don't Escape 2 was the origin of the whole "fortify your base and defend against threats" gameplay loop, and Don't Escape 3 introduced a little organization called Sidereal Plexus (just play this one because any additional information would spoil it), alongside some of the more technologically-advanced parts of the story. With the background out of the way (and [i]mo...
a fun and interactive game
One of the best indie gems I've played, it was far beyond my expectations. What looked like a simple pixel art game turned out to be a gripping, story-driven point & click adventure with puzzle solving and a unique survival twist. Each playthrough presents different survival scenarios, and together with the time/resource management mechanics, it offers remarkable replay value. I was so hooked that I completed 4 playthroughs to unlock every achievement.
fantastic game
Awesome game. I usually find dialogue between characters in games to be cliche and cringe but this is very entertaining for the most part. The world is amazing, I love how you find the different locations and interact with each event uniquely. Some puzzle solutions are a little esoteric but they're predominantly very fun and rewarding to figure out. I think my first play-through was my favourite: Barry died from heat stroke because I didn't have any water; Cody shot Razor and we let him go and Cate died on the shuttle after we crashed. When it was just me and Cody on the station, with the Earth getting progressively closer, there was a very lonely but tense atmosphere. All in all, 10/10, cool game.
