About This Game

Workshop Support

Task Force provides modders with the ability to upload custom maps, characters, and sounds using our built-in workshop tool. This workshop content can be added to any dedicated server or hosted user-created server and then included in your server maplist.

There's also the ability to access in-game content to use in custom maps. This means modders can get right to level design without having to worry about obtaining assets.

Just drag-and-drop any asset onto your map from the content drawer to start using it immediately. This also keeps the size of workshop items extremely small when other players have to download them, since all this content is already included in the game rather than in the workshop item.

You can even try the Task Force editor before buying the game. It's 100% free to use and only requires an Epic Games account with a linked GitHub account. However accessing in-game content requires Task Force to be installed in your Steam library.

Just head over to GitHub to get started:

Controller Support

All controller sensitivities, deadzones, and buttons are customizable through the in-game menu. There’s also support for creating controller-only rooms. This removes the ability to use a mouse and restricts input to joysticks only. The controller-only option is available when creating a custom server and will display a special icon in the server browser.

About the Game

Task Force is the ultimate tactical shooter sandbox that focuses on close quarters infantry combat. It aims to provide competitive arcade-style gameplay inspired by classic third-person games. Maps will include locations around the world where special operations are conducted. These could be jungles, deserts, urban areas or snowy environments. They'll be designed around single-life game modes with mechanics involving either bombs, hostages, or intel.

There are NO plans to include any of the following in Task Force:
- NO Health Regeneration
- NO Weapon Unlocks or Economy
- NO Enemy Targeting (UAV)
- NO Character Progression
- NO Killstreaks, Deathstreaks, or Perks
- NO Drivable Vehicles in PvP (Co-op Only)
- NO Looting or Weapon Drops
- NO Unrealistic Skins

TACTICAL THIRD-PERSON GAMEPLAY
Gameplay focuses on close quarters infantry combat where communication and teamwork are required. Expanding crosshairs provide a sense of weapon inaccuracy which is affected by recoil, stance, movement, and a few other factors. It rewards bursting by keeping tighter shots more precise while still allowing for accurate spray.

STRATEGIC ROUND-BASED GAME MODES
Game modes are round-based and mostly focus on single-life objectives. They’ll involve aspects such as planting or defusing bombs, extracting or guarding hostages, and capturing or defending intel. Each map will be designed to a specific game mode but may also have different areas sectioned off for different modes.

COMPETITIVE LEAGUES AND RANKINGS
Automated ladders and tournaments are integrated directly into the game. Players are provided with a detailed stats profile and a global ranking based on competitive performance. Servers are automatically created for scheduled matches and will instantly report game information upon match completion.

CUSTOM USER-CREATED LOBBIES
Servers are organized based on region and players have the ability to create their own lobbies directly in-game. These custom lobbies provide access to a robust set of management tools such as restricting players to friends-only or clan-only. It also allows for region-locking servers and automatically kicking high ping players.

Wrongly Ban Players. After 2 years of not playing the game, I log on and hit the shooting range. Now I have a game ban on record? Goodjob Redline, you're killing it once again bud!

Redline, the Task Force "developer", who previously started projects like SOCOM:GO, SOCOM Insurgency and SOCOM Resurgence all which have failed, has been known to remove keys from donors/backers from his project for no reason or for critical remarks. He has a history of deleting posts, discussions and anything not positive about him or his projects dating back to the creation of SOCOM:GO. He has already broken Steam’s TOS. He is using Early Access to crowdfund development of his “product”. As stated here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/earlyaccess, “You should not use Early Access solely to fund development”. They state in their Task Force 3rd Party “EULA” that you are not allowed to "Attempt…embarrass…Tracer Interactive itself or Tracer Interactive Affiliates" and “Tracer Interactive has absolute and sole discretion to immediately terminate or restrict access to the Services, or any portion of the Services, including any and all Accounts, at any time,...

Unfortunately, the developer for this game is devastatingly toxic. Please heed the reviews as they are accurate. The game is also dead - development has been in limbo for YEARS. Even if a fruit ends up growing on this tree, the juice won't be worth the squeeze.

Bought the game solely to cover it like a good little outlet that I am. I even gifted a copy to another outlet for them to cover. Immediately regret that decision. Before I get started on my experience with the game, allow me to list a few controversies about the game and why if you had any hope in H*** that Tracer Interactive can deliver a SOCOM experience, then you should consider this bridge burnt. Tracer Interactive vs. BigFryTV The main reason why I was turned to this game, and so did the other outlet. Despite what the public facing person who runs Tracer Interactive have said/is saying about the situation, the game is actually being developed by someone named "Redline". Redline has had a history of quitting projects when the heat is getting too much. And to be honest, I do NOT play a lot of shooters, so I can't speak of the quality of the projects. However, Redline when he started Task Force, back before the pandemic, has had an issue with BigFryTV. Why? Becaus...

IF YOU HAVE BEEN BANNED FOR SIMPLY POSTING A BAD REVIEW I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FLAGGING THESE DEVELOPERS. THEY ARE STEALING MONEY FROM THEIR CONSUMERS. TO FLAG SIMPLY FIND THE FLAG ICON ON THE STORE PAGE AND REPORT THEM. Review UPDATE Banned after posting this review, Score is now 0 Scummy DEVS getting multiple messages of people having the same issue of getting banned for a negative review, shows that these devs don't wanna make the game better, if they did they would attempt to prove me wrong, and say hey we are trying and lift the ban, and make me change my opinion. They don't care they just want ur money for their own gain, which wouldn't be a problem if they were actually attempting to fix their game. LET ME DIRECT YOU TO SOME SOCOM LIKE GAME WITH GOOD MEANING AND WELL INTENTIONED DEVS. CHECK OUT THE REVOLUTION MOD FOR INSURGENCY AN EXCELLENT MOD WITH GOOD PEOPLE BEHIND IT. DONT SLEEP ON IT. ZERO OPS FOR MOBILE GREAT DEVS FROM THE USA AIR FORCE USING UNITY AND AND PROJECT BLA...

The devs target ban creators that call them out for their past abandonware and stolen assets. Don't give your money to this scummy dev

This game is abandonware. The developers used assets that hey didn't create and tried to capitalize on a small and desperate fan base. Hope the devs never find work in the field again. They should look into food service or something not in the video game industry.

Game project appears to be dead. No updates since Jan 2023. I would not recommend buying this.

Never said anything bad about this game, never said anything bad about Redline. I was booted from the discord last December for mentioning that I'd like to see the TTK a bit higher. I've received a game ban now because I am part of the SOCOM inspired Peak.53 game in development. They are banning people that play Peak.53 or have anything to do with Peak.53.

These guys permanently banned me from their game for playing another game that was similar to theirs, but better please don’t buy this game or help them back this game. They are frauds the developer is abusing his role. Steam we need some help over here on this issue. I have a ban report on my profile now because of these frauds.
