STAR OCEAN™ - THE LAST HOPE -™ 4K & Full HD Remaster

Massive issues with Uncanny Valley character designs (very hard to get by, creeps me the hell out like Chucky), sudden massive difficulty spikes (I play RPGS by doing literally every other objective I can before proceeding with story. This usually means I'm powerful enough to actually beat boss fights with minimal issues), cliche and entirely predictable plot points, BUT ALSO completely unexpected plot points that MAKE NO SENSE. Stopped at a boss fight I just couldn't beat no matter what I did, against someone there was no reason I should be fighting, for reasons that made no sense to me at all.

This is a great game i have played it through four times before on different systems. I have played all of the Star Ocean games in the past so I bought this on steam as soon as i seen it.

Has its issues for sure, but one of the most enjoyable action JRPG gameplay systems out there. Well worth a play if you enjoy that style of gameplay.

This game is further proof that the 2nd story is the only good Star Ocean ever made. The main character is like diet Claude, with this weird empty serial killer expression on his face. The voice acting and cutscene animations are some of the worst i've seen. Characters have very few skills in battle and blindside mode feels like a forced gimmick. Beat mode is pretty cool though. The crafting would be decent except for the bad pacing. You often can't make items until they are much worse than what you already have. The world is very big but usually boring and lifeless to traverse. The story is also very unengaging.
