About the Game

Empire of Sin is a new strategy game brought to you by Romero Games and Paradox Interactive that puts you at the heart of the ruthless criminal underworld of 1920s Prohibition-era Chicago. Slip into the shoes of one of the fourteen real and historically inspired mob bosses such as Al Capone, Stephanie St. Clair, or Goldie Garneau and assemble a rag-tag gang, build and manage your criminal empire, and defend your turf from rival gangs. It’s up to you to hustle, charm, and intimidate your way to the top and do whatever it takes to stay there - break a leg!

Roleplay: Choose one of fourteen unique bosses based on fictional and real-world gangsters, then set out to build and manage your criminal empire in Chicago’s infamous Prohibition era.

Empire Management: Build your Empire of Sin and run Chicago’s underworld economy with business savvy, brutality or city-wide notoriety. Strategically manage your establishments such as speakeasies, supply chains, casinos and more.

Turn-Based Combat: Assemble your gang and slug it out in turn-based combat to defend and expand your territory – or send a message to opposing gangs.

Game is trash, utter stinking trash. And i'm not talking about the messed up RNG, The graphical Glitches and Bugs in a 5 year old game (ambidextrous gunslinger? Second gun is worn on the forearm ! Thug dies ? he stays up and at a glance appears to still be a threat ) or the fact a common thug has an almost full armor bar whereas you seem to be entirely dependant on luck to see what equipment you MIGHT get. Game balance seems totally questionnable. No, when i say trash, i mean it in the ways of : Each 1 hour or so session of gameplay i did, whenever i closed down the game ? the SECONDARY LAUNCHER ( yes, because buying the game on Steam still forces you to install Paradox's launcher to start your GODDAMN GAME ... ) basically dies and REFUSES to start my game, unless i uninstall and reinstall it ... The Game CRAPS ITSELF TO DEATH each time i close it, forcing me to reinstall it ... HOW !?!?! WHY !?!?! THEY CHARGE 50 $ FOR THAT !!! At least it IS in theme witht he game, clearly it w...

I really love Paradox. Their strategy games are almost always worth hundreds, if not thousands of hours of game play. I cannot recommend Empire of Sin though. Having spent countless hours building my dynasty in CK3, growing my galactic empire in Stellaris, and getting steamrolled in HOI4, I found EOS and was immediately intrigued. I've always liked prohibition era mafia media, from movies to books to games. I had high hopes coming into this. Empire of Sin is unfortunately just one of Paradox's weaker titles. There's countless game balance issues, both for and against the player. The diplomacy is lackluster at best, even after the update, there's very little replayability, and several bugs, ranging from annoying to save corrupting. The game balance issues are the most minor of the lot. Player controlled mobsters move faster than AI mobsters, allowing you to react to situations far away from you with ease. On the other hand, the AI gets to deploy multiple groups of dispensable mobster...

So, I played this game years ago and enjoyed it. Bought it again even though I saw all the bad reviews. After a few months of not playing, I guess the game decided to erase my save file. I do NOT recommend this game.

Game is alright, it is rather enjoyable for the first 10 - 20 hours of game play but gets rather boring after you get high level associates and main character. The development of your precincts are quite lacklustre and just boils down the money maxing, I never had police attention even once. Get game on sale if you really want it, but this game seems semi abandoned and isn't worth anyone's time.

The Empire of Sin Soundtrack perfectly encapsulates the prohibition-era Chicago atmosphere, with its blend of smoky jazz, brassy swing, and noir-inspired motifs. Each piece feels like it has stepped straight out of a 1920s speakeasy, enhancing the game’s narrative of intrigue, ambition, and organised crime. The music lends weight to both tense strategy moments and story-driven encounters. Technically, the soundtrack demonstrates strong orchestration and immaculate production. Brass sections are punchy without being overbearing, rhythm sections swing with authentic groove, and melodic lines cut through the mix with clarity. The attention to period-accurate arrangement ensures not only stylistic immersion but also musical credibility. Overall, the Empire of Sin Soundtrack is a well-crafted and thematically rich collection. Essential listening for anyone who enjoys jazz-inspired game scores, or who wants to keep the spirit of the roaring twenties alive long after the game is closed.

I like the ability to shoot with two guns at the same time — it makes combat more dynamic. With new DLC the fights are pretty intense.

Good update, makes the game fun again. New story, new characters, Vanguard class, more missions, weapons, new challenges, and even a dog.
