Eternal Lore is a "hack and slash" RPG. The plot of the game is the usual generic fanasy RPG plot: evil sealed away is being released, you must stop it. Pros: - The combat is very well designed, and flows very well. - The maps are quite expansive, and there are plenty of areas to explore, with useful to find in them. - Enemy variety is quite strong, and in general the enemy AI is well programmed. - The dialog is decently written. - The English translation is very polished (the game was made by a Thai company). - No loading times at all, and the game is very stable. I ran into zero bugs during my 16+ hours playing it. - A very respectible game length that didn't feel like it was intentionally drawn out to me. Cons: - One of the game's main mechanics is dodge rolling, which is controlled by double tapping a direction key. Unfortunetly it's a bit unresponsive at times, and the keypress detection needs imporvement. - The game's monitary system is not all that well designed in my opinion....

A simple hack and slash rpg game that is nothing special in the grand scheme of things but is full of references and reminded me of the old days of playing adventure games on the N64 and dreamcast. -follow a fairly linear storyline -choose between 3 classes -leveling up gives you allocation points -find/buy/craft better gear and potions -actionbar you can fill with abilities/spells, or powerful passive signets you locate in the world. I was surprised with the accurate balancing and pacing of monsters throughout the game. It became even a challenge in some circumstances. Then you get a few levels and some new gear, come back and wipe the floor with them. I am not a person to go for 100% achievements, but I had the majority of them by the end of the game and I was having enough fun that I chose to grind out those last few achievements. Not bad at all for 10 dollars.
I've enjoyed this game. It is simple. I enjoy the change of pace. However the animations are bad. You never step where your shaodw is. The interaction is laughably bad. (you always interact in parenthesis about your past tense actions). The combat is very basic. The quests are almost non existant. The map is so close you can never tell where you are. The basics of the game show something. It is aware of current games but only as jokes. If you want more than the simplest of action games this will dissappoint. I enjoyed the game but wore out before I could finish it. Enjoyed my time but can't recommend it to others.
Take out the platforming elements or the enemies/traps that impede said platforming elements and this game would be perfect IMO. Other than that it is a stellar little rpg that harkens back to the old days of Threads of Fate and Brave Fencer Musashi (great games I would recommend). It's got simple gameplay elements of hit thing til dead that is well made and only made better with a large selection of skills at later levels to vary gameplay and strategy. The difficulty curve is not too heightened as to scare away as enemies one step ahead of you are still managable, but with the right gear and stats are then made trivial. As far as classes go, you have your basic three of: Knight that tanks hits as well as giving them out, Mage which is your typical glass cannon, Rogue which relies more on mobility and dodging for armor than the knight's high defense. From there you learn new skills every level or couple levels that help you on your journey and can help you hone your character to your...
Even during the first few minutes of the game, its already funny. It feels like a 3D Ragnarok Online with your typical Knight / Mage / Rogue class types. So far, I think Bow weapon is overpowered since you can shoot from afar, kite while shooting arrows, and no arrows are required to attack with bow. Plus, no stamina required to attack! So I can just shoot arrows all day every day! Navigation is lacking though, there's no indication or pointing arrow to your destination. I don't think you can zoom out to get a better view of the map. But it is a fun game nonetheless. I score this 8/10 UPDATE: Here's my first 35-minute gameplay video. Re-uploaded it due to the old video I uploaded had problems. https://youtu.be/ZsiZoZNP_vg
Haven't played it much yet but from what I have seen I think it's fair to say I know whats there for the rest of the game. ill keep it straight forward this time around: The animations are stiff and not very pleasing to look at. The character models aren't exactly bad but they could have done a better job. The combat is button mashing together with a hotbar like an MMO that allows you to perform skills. There is parodies here and there that I think old school gamers myself including can get at least a giggle out of (not going to spoil them) The graphics are actually quite nice, Tho the map design is a little lazy. I will update this review once I get more into it but for now ill leave it at this. To sum it up if your looking for a silly game then this might be right up your ally. If you were looking for an anime game or something of the like then your probably better of with the newly released Accel World VS SAO or the upcoming YS: Lacrimosa od Dana.
At first, the game progress with a slow, simple pace. But as the story progressed, everything has became more interesting and addicting. What I like the most about this game is enemies' AI. All enemies are not pieces of cake for you to take a bite. They can actually kill you if not played properly. They work together like an organized crime. And the bossfights are amazing. They have a pack of skills to kick the sh-t out of you. And you must learn their attack pattern in order to defeat them. I must admit that I swear a lot while fighting these enemies, especially the bosses. Don't be mistaken by the comical graphic. These enemies are real sh-t. This game is worth checking out. A good game for your Sunday Afternoon.
Not my style of game but I have worked with the developer in the past and wanted to support him. I've got a little more than 2 hours in and it's actually quite fun and addicting. Will definitely keep playing
I love low budget indie games where it's clear the creators did the best they could with the skills and tools at their disposal. It's rough, but it's got soul, and it's inspiring to see.
The game is not functioning in Fullscreen Mode. The gameplay when it actually works does not justify the highly grindy nature of this product. I can only recommend it for people who want to show others why videogames are bad.
