This game, which once promised to be something special, has unfortunately lost its appeal. The last update was back in 2021, and since then, it seems the developers have completely forgotten about the project. There are no new features, no bug fixes, and, most disappointingly, the server has been down for over a week. Players are left waiting, but there are no signs of any effort to restore it. Honestly, it's disappointing. The game had potential, but the lack of support and the developers' apparent disregard for user issues show that they've long abandoned the project. Overall, this is no longer the game I wanted to return to. It's unfortunate, but it looks like I'll be looking for something new.

A TILE PLACEMENT GAME OF CREATING LANDSCAPES, CLAIMING AREAS, AND GAINING POINTS
Carcassonne is a modern classic tile-placement game based on the award wining game in which the players draw and place a tile with a piece of southern French landscape on it. The tile might feature a city, a road, a cloister, grassland or some combination thereof, and it must be placed adjacent to tiles that have already been played, in such a way that cities are connected to cities, roads to roads, et cetera. The player can then decide to place one of his followers, so called Meeples, on one of the areas on it: on the city as a knight, on the road as a robber, on a cloister as a monk, or on the grass as a farmer. When that area is complete, that meeple scores points for its owner. Each new game is a new experience thanks to the ever-changing landscape.
ENJOY FUN AND TACTICAL GAMEPLAY
During a game of Carcassonne, players are faced with decisions like: "Is it really worth putting my last meeple there?" or "Should I use this tile to expand my city, or should I place it near my opponent instead, making it harder for him to complete his goal and score points?" Since players place only one tile and have the option to place one meeple on it, turns proceed quickly even if it is a game full of options and possibilities.

asmodee servers suck, there should also be an option to remove animations, games shouldn't just abruptly end after the time has expired on multi-player
If you like Carcassonne or boardgames in general then I strongly recommend you pick up this game. It is a lot of fun and very cheap to get. You don't need to own the DLC's to enjoy them as long as someone in your party has it. It is cross-platform so except a great variety of players. The game is however not flawless, there are some bugs like if you play with the dragon DLC and a player leaves the bot that replaces that player does not actually know how to move the dragon and then you might be forced to abandon the game entirely, affecting your game rating. In addition to that the chatbot they're using to censor profanity is also an American made model, which means it will censor normal casual words that it perceive as “woke” because the US is a fascist psychotic s-hole. I do hope they will replace it with a European made model in the future. You can get around it tho by simply typing in another language than English.
Was introduced to this game via the Xbox 360, and it's been my favourite digital board game since. Both online and co-op works very well. Unlike some digital board games like Monopoly or Game of Life where you have to wait / mash to skip animations, this game changed turns in an instant, giving co-op a much smoother feel when swapping mouse/ controllers. Never played the IRL version, so I can't make any comparison.
The board game is better, but I don't have any friends left after last winter. A tragedy.
I love this game, even though I'm terrible at it. I really enjoy playing a relaxing turn based board game. The reason I have to reject it, is because I lost connection while playing a tutorial. How is it even possible to lost connection on something that should not be connected to the internet in the first place?!? I absolutely hate games that are online only. I am so very disappointed and done playing it.
One of the greatest tile placement games of all time.
occasionally, the ai bots will place river tiles so that they don't continue to flow 'down stream', and instead do a 180 and turn back towards the original river tile (does that make sense lol). otherwise, this online version of carcassonne is great! love all the expansions :)
Great game. Very addictive...
Perfect recreation of the board game and I can play against computer opponents so no need to round up anyone else. Absolutely love it.
