The sequel to VR: Vacate the Room is sadly an over produced inconsiderate annoyance. The puzzles just don't justify the issues in the game unlike its predecessor. The opening is LONG and drawn out. Everytime you start the game you have to wait for the room to slowly light up, the title to slowly scroll in, and then the credits to slowly scroll in, and then the start button to slowly raise up. And once all that is done, you can wait for an elevator to slowly take you to the room you will be playing in. It feel it's about 5 minute to start the actual game. Which is worse considering a later issue. Next, let's talk room scale. The requirements for room scale are even larger than before. I had a decent size space, but it wasn’t enough, i had to move more furniture to make it work. But there really would not be a need for this if a movement mechanic was implemented. No teleportation or walking. I found this just inconsiderate. A small change that nearly every other room scale game sup...

A BIG improvement on the first game. The game manages to merge several sizeable areas into you playing field. It does so by rotating the lift in the game to take you to another area of the room, turning you around. This merging of areas is a good thing, because even though you're only moving around in your little square in real life, the feeling you get is that you are in a much bigger space. If you enjoyed the first game, you will like this one a lot more.
Puzzles were challenging but not too out there. Travel time between rooms was a bit frustrating.
a nice short vr escape room game. it is an upgrade to the first one. it is very enjoyable and not too complicated. you do not need to play the first one for the story, though i do recommend it. i have found the secret exit. i was not expecting to play the game again but i was very curious. tip=>
absorb everything at the end :)
please do not spoil it for anyone. i recorded the game and put it on youtube but did not put the "secret" ending there to not spoil it for anyone.
This game was incredibly short, and I'm pretty sure the last puzzle is messed up a bit. I love escape rooms (real life ones) so I was excited for this in VR, but its was way too easy and rather boring compared to the real thing. If you can get it for $3 or MAYBE $5, it might be worth it for the 20-30 min of playtime, but I wish I would have saved the $10 i spent it on and did a real escape room instead. Side note - the elevators made me a bit disoriented and nauseated, and I rarely get sick from motion sickness. So a tip if you do buy this: close your eyes when you're on the elevator(s).
This is a REALLY cool game mechanics-wise. The lack of teleportation, but actually being able to physically walk through each room? Insane what it does for immersion. And the rotating elevator is such a cool trick to make the total space feel huge. I found myself saying "that's so fucking cooooool" more than once. As for the game itself, it's a bit short. But I don't even mind that, I kind of prefer it for a room escape game. It looks really good graphically, the ambience is great, and it can get quite spooky with the darkness and the isolation. I liked the puzzles, when the second button panel all came together for me I felt awesome. And no, I wasn't clever enough to get the roof exit :P
Vacate 2 Rooms is the sequel to the original and takes the Escape Room concept further. The atmosphere is good and I loved the railway ride in the underground mine. The elevator is also cool. Very claustrophobic feeling! But the intricacy of the puzzles is where the game really shines. I would recommend taking your time with this one and not giving up if you cant figure it out right away. It took me a little longer than I expected to figure it out but then again I am new to VR escape rooms. I enjoyed myself the whole way through. The price is fair, especially if you get the bundle. If you like escape room games, this is worth it.
Hard to say if I recommend. Yes, if you really like "room escape" and such kind of puzzle games. Positive: + good puzzle design + no locomotion + nice atmosphere + 2 ends -> therefore I played the game 3-4 times, just to find both ;) Negative: - Moderate graphics - Game mechanics are not fully convincing
I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could pla...
I liked the first game, but this is too slow. The opening is painfully slow, and the elevator is way too slow. The elevator spins while it ascends and descends, and I think it could make some people feel motion sick. I was working on some puzzles, but, once I realized I was going to have to keep using that slow elevator, I decided this had to be refunded.
