About This Game

Built from the ground up by a two person team, The Living Remain is a virtual reality first person adventure shooter where players immerse themselves in a new world where the undead have taken over. You must survive the horde of undead using an arsenal of weapons in a story driven campaign loaded with a variety of interactive environments. Explore, scavenge, and collect filament to craft ammo and upgrade a variety of weapons.

You are playing as Grant Montgomery, a former military soldier who has been separated from his family. Now he is searching for them in a post apocalyptic world where pockets of remaining humans are surviving within protected compounds, while the undead roam freely. He comes across a group of survivors, one of them is Alex, and she quickly becomes his ally. Over a radio she helps Grant navigate through this dark post apocalypse world.

  • Full campaign with story driven gameplay - Embark on a journey that has purpose as you progress through a compelling story
  • Combat - Take hold of a variety of weapons such as pistols, and two handed weapons (assault rifles, shot guns, etc.) or wield a knife for up close and personal combat
  • Realistic Pistol and Assault Rifle Aiming/Firing- Look down your sights while you take down hordes of the undead
  • Crafting- Scavenge for filament to craft ammo and upgrade weapons
  • Physics Based Environments- Break through glass with your hands or push objects away, and hands will not go through them
  • Interactive and Immersive Gameplay - Combat, scaling/climbing, and engaging puzzles
  • Full locomotion- Traverse through various environments using full locomotion with smooth touchpad/stick walking to freely roam, scavenge, and explore
  • Optimized to run fluidly on GTX 970 or equivalent

If this was early release I would have probably been ok with it. But it's really rough, I wouldn't really compare it to Arizona or anything else. Needs more time in the oven. Has a cool idea with upgrades. My specs: i9 9900k 32GB RAM 1TB M2 5080 GPU Quest 3 (wifi)

Played on 3070 - using quest link on quest 2 with dedicated router I recommend this game - really enjoyed my play-through. I had some performance issues at the start but then ran great the rest of the game. We had a heat wave and it was so hot it might have effected my pc. I was initially disappointed and almost stopped playing - not just because of the performance. The graphics , movement and controls and game-play initially just felt pants. (might have been linked to the performance) Then I started enjoying it more and more and was loving it soon enough. Not sure if I just got used to it or the game actually improves as it goes. Some of the GFXs are great and sometimes you really get a sense of scale / open world. Some of the zombies are more funny than scary. The water looked really bad though - like an old retro game. The action on the revolver is so satisfying - they way you can flip out the empties and insert the bullets then flick it back in. It feels so good and real. If you ...

Gotta say, I'm very impressed! This is a vr game that really respects the player. Weapon's handle and reload as you expect them to. the environment can be explored as you would expect. open drawers, open cabinets, look through boxes, ect. the controls are simple and they work well. the devs borrow from half life alyx in terms of how the game controls which was a good move imo. they did a great job, and its impressive considering its just two people! i would love to see what they do next.
