About This Game

This is an innovative, physically realistic 2d artillery game. The whole game world - is a physics simulation! But on a deeper level than you ever seen in games. There's no sprites, no constantly shaped physical blocks. Everything is made of dynamically and realistically permutating matter.

Tens of thousands of tiny interacting particles form this dynamic matter, which is being simulated in real time. Everything in the game is made of this matter, no excuses: ground, player characters, enemies, projectiles, bonuses. And everything can be blown up in a realistic way.

The calculations required to run this simulation in real time are enormous, but luckily we have supercomputers inside our computers. Modern videocards provide enough computational power to run this kind of simulation in a real time. Computational performance of GPU is usually 50-100 times higher than a CPU can provide. And this whole power is used to calculate the physics of the game world. So, the game literally runs on GPU instead of CPU.

On the big picture it is an alternative branch of games' evolution. The games used to evolve towards better graphics. My game has rather simple graphics, but is pretty advanced on physics level. From the different point of view, modern technologies like VR or AR bring virtuality to reality. While physics simulations bring reality to virtuality.

This approach is innovative technically, but also opens new physics related gameplay mechanics. Some are already implemented. But collective imagination is wider than individual one. So, I invite the players to play and share their ideas and thoughts. Together we can make the gameplay unique and exclusive.

This is a very creative idea and it can be a lot of fun... but dealing with the AI is a chore. Trying to manage moving your tank, selecting weapons, and angling the gun barrel all using the keyboard sucks. It's really hard to accurately use artillery because you can't smoothly select an angle for the gun by using keys. Of course the AI doesn't have this issue and can accurately track you and continue peppering you with projectiles while you struggle to lob a close shot from far away. This game really needs mouse support or something to refine the gun angle...

I am a tank. Tree got in my way, so I blew it up. A second tree got in my way, so I aimed and accidentally blew myself up. I love this game. 10/10 In all reality, this is a very simple, yet challenging game made by a single person. And it jumped from 1 to 12 levels within a span of a month of purchasing it. It is a great game for the cost, it has a multiplayer that I have yet to utilize, but it is turn-based on the same computer, and we need more same screen co-op games.

Here is my quick video review of Jelly in the Sky - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZS65A_R3LsE So far I am excited about the amount of different weapons and upgrades you can load your tank up with. Definitely reminds me of the old amiga game "Artillerus" which is a good thing! Wiggly physics makes for some good dynamic local hot seat battles. Game did crash after my first hotseat game against AI, but this only happened once and I've played several matches verses different amounts of AI. So far my main complaints would be the camera system that doesn't seem to allow any sort of manual scrolling, but instead is controlled by the system which doesn't do the best job of keeping up with the action (shots aimed at a far away opponent during an AI's turn can go off the edge of the screen and you don't get to see if it hits, this happens too often). Help tips would be great to give brief descriptions of what each of the weapons and modifiers do. but honestly, that's sort of par...

I know it's still in alpa and all, but there's nothing here yet. Few broken fragements of mess. Hope it works out but regret shelling out for something that isn't yet in a posisition for me to enjoy it.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but some degree of customization really needs to be added to the game, specifically treads. Getting through the first few levels is a little difficult simply because the tank keeps getting stuck. The game seems to have some good potential though.

So far it is absolutely not working for me. Can't scroll, can't zoom. The game stops after a few minutes and I can't even quit to the main menu (only alt+f4 works). So it is totally unenjoyable in it's actual state. Okay it is early access, but I've seen early access titles in better shape. I'm really looking forward for improvements as I'm excited about this game. I will update my review accordingly.

I don't know if I'll ever play it again, but it was inspiring and has me thinking... That's worth $4 to me. Some feedback: Another player character type would be nice. Like one that can jump would be especially appreciated. I found driving tank treads over things and flipping over to be frustrating and not so fun.

Interesting game. I would wait for singleplayer campaign to come out before purchasing, but you get a pretty fun hotseat game for a low price right now.

It broken to the point of not being playable on many machines. oh and if you do get it to run it sucks. bad controls, no way to tell were aiming or how much power behind shell, bad not functinal AI, broken physics, gets stuck driving across flat land or small bumbs, physics engine decides its time for you die and while nothing touches you or anything you explode. Then lets no forget it originally had a low over rating on here then a bunch of obvious spam accounts started spamming reddit with posts about it. brand new accounts, ones clearly set up for advertising, etc. then so many of those genertic. lame and totally not sponsored reviews showed up on steam. Its gotten bad on r/gaming now because these devs are pushing a bad game hard. r/gaming has it well documented now as to whats wrong with all of this. oh go check out steamcharts and see how this game rarely ever has more then one person at a time playing its because it suchs and the reviews are fake

The idea of this game is pretty cool and the physics work well, though the tanks often can't move because they're stuck underneath objects or can't shoot or drive because the cannon or the wheels are bugged into the ground. If the bugs would be fixed the game would be at least enjoyable.
