OK. So this is actually a surprisingly cute game. The story is... well the story is mostly an excuse for plowing your way through the various levels. It is very thin, but the story is not really the point. Think Superfrog level of involvement in the story. The gameplay is very simple, yet it is just involved enough that you will need to redo some of the levels on normal difficulty if you want full marks. At a 2€ price tag this game is a great way to waste a couple of hours.
Okay, this game *does* have some issues: - the English localization needs a serious copy-edit - it bypasses the Unity configuration dialog (always a no-no) - the in-game achievements screen is poorly designed - it could really use more documentation and tool-tips *BUT* it's pretty, fun to play, runs great on Linux, has an untimed difficulty level which makes it perfect for no-stress gaming or introducing the kids to strategy gaming, and it's only $2.
Well, I had never played a time-management game before. This game style is really relaxed and very straight forward. I have had little trouble getting the top rank on each level. Simply figure out the resources required, then make sure they are available, when needed. Use worker to collect resources, and use bonuses to aid in collection. Overall, this game has some nice quality of graphics, animations, and level design. The music is a one track loop, and the sound effects are just okay, although the worker click-acknowledgement is pretty bad. Some of the resource timers have a sound effect, but I would have otherwise muted the game. Additional negs: there were a lot of typos in the story text and there were some rough edges to a couple of level designs. There is a known bug where the mouse stops working for 10 secs, but it only rarely happens. I recommend this for those who like resource management games. At the full price of a couple bucks, you can safely try the game with little ri...
Game Information "Elven Legend" is a Strategy game. The game was developed and published by Growing Grass Studio. "Elven Legend" is the first episode of "Elven Legend." The Game Review Game Visuals I want to mention that the visuals in the game are well done. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's option menu. Game Audio I want to mention that audio for the game is well done. Even though the audio is somewhat simplistic and repetitive. The audio can be adjusted in the game's option menu as well. Gameplay This is a strategy game, where careful planning is required, due to the limited amount of resources that are available. There are three different difficulty game modes to choose from: Relaxed; Normal and Professional. The difference between these difficulties: Timer Speed and Scoring. The relaxed mode, no timer speed but low scoring. The normal mode, moderate timer speed and moderated scoring. The professional, high timer speed and high scoring....
Cute little time management game, I had fun playing this. Getting all the achievements takes some grinding though, one playthrough doesn't even get you halfway there.
Elven Legend is a cute little strategy game, well worth the small price. You can choose if you want to play it timed or in relaxed mode, which is nice. The artwork looks good but don't buy it for the storyline. The few lines of story you do get to see are ridden with grammatical errors. Overal still a nice game.
The game is OK for the genre, but after you finish it the grind for achievements is just plain stupid, bc the numbers are simply unrealistic and not connected to the actual numbers one gets while playing. Ex. from the first run one gets IIRC like 12 trees saved (those trees are distributed 1-2 per level). The achievement requires 25, 50, and 70 trees respectively, so you have to select a level that contains 2 trees, and repeat it like 30+ times... The numbers for collecting materials are even more crazy and disconnected from reality. Grind, grind, grind until you decide to never buy anything from this publisher
Devs abandoned this game and the work to be done on it. Nothing works and steam successes are inactive. It's a cute little game that doesn't work. i'm disappointed..
Elven Legend is a very enjoyable time/resource management game. Gameplay is pretty much the same in all games of this genre, repair, build, clear, collect in the allotted amount of time. There are better ones out there, but this one is pretty fun.
