About This Game
Dead Cells puts you in control of a failed alchemic experiment trying to figure out what's happening on a sprawling, ever-changing and seemingly cursed Island. Immortal but crippled, your last resort is to take over bodies in order to move, explore… and fight.
While you may well be immortal, the corpses you possess are not. Each time your host is destroyed, you will be sent back to the dungeon to find yourself a new one and start again...
Experience a Roguevania, mixing an interconnected world, branching paths and unlockable skills with the constant adrenaline-pumping threat of permadeath. No checkpoints. You either vanquish the final boss in one go or you try again. However, you keep some of your progress for successive runs new paths you’ve unlocked, access to new levels, mutations, abilities and weapons.
Tough but fair combat, responsive controls, challenging foes, and of course, the emergency panic roll to get you out of trouble make for a visceral and cathartic action game.

It's a well-made game that, at a certain point, hit a difficulty level in which in convinced me that it wasn't worth my time anymore. Hours and hours without progress, constantly reset back to the beginning. I guess it's up to you to decide whether that's worth your money. I'm giving it a recommend for the quality, but thinking back on all the wasted time I've spent, part of me wishes I'd never discovered it.
Now THIS is a game for people like me. I'm almost 50, work in a factory and just need to pass some time, not to be "imersed" and spend my whole day in a virtual world.. I don't care about no story, I don't care about no photorealistic graphics, that make you change graphics cards every few years. Sorry, "ain't nobody got time for that", as a great philisopher once said. I care about the sound, and oh, what I mostly care about, is GAMEPLAY, imagine that, in a GAME. And this game has an interesting and fun one. So does the new RE4, but I'd rather play the old one, cause it's faster and simpler. I tried other games like this but this one is again, faster and simpler, and more fun. So for people with the same needs and demands THIS is the game for you. To the team behind the creation of this game: Thank you guys(and girls?). I came here to support you and hope more good stuff for you and from you.
it's no surprise this game has overwhelmingly positive reviews. It's a true gem: a perfect mix of humor, rewarding challenges, and brilliant design. Every new level hits differently. Love it.
Dead Cells is easily one of the best games I've ever played. Originally bought this on the Switch and then on the PC when it was in a sale. This was my first foray into roguelite/metroidvania style games and now I absolutely love them! If you haven't played this game, do yourself a favour and play it. It's absolutely amazing
The only thing I hate about this game is that I can't Alt-F4 after I die. YOU'RE MAKING IT WORSE BY NOT LETTING ME RAGE QUIT. Otherwise, great game!
Progression is frustratingly grindy and in later zones damage scaling is just out of control, so you don't really lose runs to getting worn down, you just get nuked out of nowhere or with chaotic interactions, and enemies get a lot of unpredictable gimmicks. Feels like everything turns into one-shot or get one-shot. And while the route splitting is nice, the starting zones are not interesting or varied enough for how often they make you speedrun through them. Bummer, because the combat feels snappy and weapon/build variety is impressive.
Where do I even begin. Im not even HALFWAY into this game, and its already one of the best games Ive played. The creators REALLY know how to keep someone hooked. The game ,even with its roguelike "Die and lose everything" doesnt feel tedious and makes you say "one more time" over and over. The flashy weapons, the enemies, the level design which always feels like youre playing a level you havent before. Its like when youre starting to lose interest, you get new weapons, enemies, mechanics, and bosses thrown at you to keep you engaged.
Do you want to die in the most interestingly brutal ways? NO? Well to bad because that's the entire game. Seriously though this game is way to addictive you should play it.
Great game if you've ever played hades you'd probably like this, it is 2d though a bit different but still a good game.
