It's a decent remake, with the same turn-based combat as the previous titles; it offers new ways to upgrade your character with different zombie strain mutations (fire, lightning, ice, nature, etc.) and also different ways to upgrade your skills with temporary random buffs. The art style's very sleek and comic-book inspired, and the soundtrack's fitting. It's nice seeing some of the characters from previous titles reimagined (like Louis, Veradux, Baron Brixius, Doctor Herregods, Doctor Klima, etc.). Also, the story has a beginning and an end, so it's a bit more satisfying than the previous 2 games in this regard. But in many ways, Sonny feels like a downgrade, as the gear is no longer displayed on your characters, there are fewer animations, and your party feels very static. The cutscenes are also not animated, and they feel more like comic-book strips.
