Unfortunately I have to give this a negative review. While I was a big fan of the original Black Mirror, especially part 1 and 2 with there fun puzzles and dark atmosphere, this remake was unneccessary. It suffered from terrible perfomance issues with fps drops and stuttering that were uncalled for because it's not even a new game. Also, the story was too cheesy. It was a tad too easy, way too linear and exploration wasn't encouraged. Way too much handholding and the game just didn't make me feel anything. It felt like a chore to complete this and not like playing a fun crime story full of twists. I rather stick with the legend of the original in this case.

Like in the original graphic adventure trilogy, the Gothic Horror genre and its unique atmosphere of madness and psychological distress remains at the heart of Black Mirror.
The point-and-click gameplay of the original trilogy served as the basis for the re-imagined gameplay, which focuses on close-up investigation and interaction with nightmarish visions that plague the protagonist of the game David Gordon.

I played it because I was feeling nostalgic about the first game and thought this was a remaster/better graphic version. Hoo boy was I wrong. The story was bad and not at all what I remembered. Why were there ghosts that could strangle you if you got too close? Why put things in their hands and make you get up close and personal to try and activate the investigate icon when they would just turn around and strangle you for getting close? Why did your dead father's psychiatrist show up? Why was she the one carrying the lamp for the full second half of the game in a very dark house where she follows you around, is slower, and gets stuck on the scenery? Why are you collecting photograph pieces? If it was a game under a different name, maybe I would've found it at least semi entertaining, but because they tried to play it off as Black Mirror, I'm going to say I don't recommend it. It does not represent the series, and definitely does not capture the feel of the first game that it was suppos...
This is a fun little mystery. It has nothing to do with the show. It actually predates the show. At first I found the controls a little strange, but I got used to them and became engrossed in figuring this out. There are some challenges but it is still mostly a narrative.
Not a terrible game if you can get past the poor controls. The music is excellent and father and son story was touching.
