Just to let everyone know, THE FIRE BUTTON DOES WORK. You just need to PRESS F2 TO LOAD UP THE WEAPON (for the scoped rifle, press F2 to load the weapon and then F1 to aim down your sight -- then, without moving, fire the rifle). Now, you can use your weapons! Hope this helps... ;) Still, it took a while to discover this. This vital piece of info should have been displayed at the main menu or on the Steam Page itself. Also, the config files for both DOSbox and the game had to be adjusted to run more smooth. Here is my advice: 1) Head to your Steam's game directory: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Redneck Deer Huntin' 2) Click the dosboxRR config file to open it. 3) Change it to these settings: • fullscreen=true • fulldouble=true • fullresolution=0.0 • windowresolution=0.0 • output=openglnb • memsize=64 • aspect=true 4) Save the changes by holding Ctrl+S, then close out of it 5) Head into the HUNTIN' folder and select th...

This is one of the best hunting games of all time
For a game that is essentially a spinoff of the Redneck Rampage series, this game is an amazingly complete and realistic hunting simulator of supreme quality, especially for it's time, aside lacking the need to hit specific parts of the animal for it to be edible, as you might expect from a 90s game on the build engine. Red Neck Huntin' is an amazingly fun and satisfying game if you are the type of person like me who can appreciate a nice quiet relaxing game just once in a while, are a real-life hunting aficionado and/or have been hunting for real and found the experience to be at least slightly enjoyable as I did. This game requires patience, weapon specialty, strategy and indeed even stealth which in my opinion are it's strongsuits. It also adds a small amount of depth to the character of Leonard as it shows that he is just a normal guy in what he does in his spare time when not going on a rampage.
I remember reading a review in a magazine back when this game came out. It was very funny, here what it said: "You'll watch in amazement as various animals slide back and forth on tracks, just begging for you to end their meaningless existences. Do yourself a favor - just shoot yourself!" https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3241520657
This "game" gives a bad name to the original Redneck Rampage classic.
They slapped Redneck on a mediocre hunting game using the Build engine. While this engine is okay for close to mid-range FPS like Duke3D or Redneck Rampage, trying to hunt is especially frustrating since the 5 pixels in the distance look like either trees or a deer. To top if off, the controls are awful with no way to change them unless you mess around in the data files. Imagine using F1 to aim, F2 to reload, mouse2 to move forward, shift to run, and mouse1 for fire. Sucks, huh? Now make the mouse inverted.
this game is the worst game ever made!!!! it sucks and no one should ever buy it!!! get ready to aim for the pixel!!! i hate it and so should every one else!! this game is so old, adam and eve palyed it!!! i hate it!! the atari E.T. is better than this crap!!!! i wasted 10$ on this peice of crap!!! :( :( :( in conclusion, this game should never be made and sucks !!!! :( :( :(
I HONESTLY HAVE TO SAY THAT BESIDES THE ATARI, AND SHITLOAD OF CARTRIDGES, THIS IS THE WORST GOSH DARN FLIPPING PIECE OF EMOJI THAT I HAVE EVER PLAYED AND HOW YOU CAN CHARGE A PERSON 10 BUCKS FOR THIS GARBAGE AND SLEEP AT NIGHT IS BEYOND MY COMPREHENSION BUT ENJOY IT BECAUSE IF YOU WAS TO COME QUIT WITH A BOX BUSTER OF A GAME YOU'LL NEVER GET ANOTHER DOLLAR FROM ME! AND YOU DEFINITELY GOT THE CLEAN VERSION, CROOKS.
A fun hunting game for its time. Unfortunately it seems like DosBox is the only way to play.
Sorry, but the graphics in this game are horrible.
