About This Game

"You know, what surprised me most, was not that they went that far with genetic mutations. Or, that somehow this god-knows-what strain popped out in somebody’s system and started spreading. Nah, that’s child’s play compared to their crazy plan.

They tried to hide it. You think I’m joking, right? I wish I was.

Truth is, they never stood a chance. We never stood a chance."

Fovos is a post-apocalyptic horror, rail shooter for the HTC Vive, set in a future where an omnipotent AI is taking over human brains through genetic implants. Even if you survive, will there be anything left to live with?

Game Modes:

  • Story-driven Single Player Campaign
  • Survival mode - Fight against hordes of incoming zombies to rock the leaderboards (leaderboard integration coming soon)

Game is a lot of fun and look forward to seeing it further develop. I just have a few things I'd like to mention though. I noticed in the section with the flashlight if I accidentally went into my steam vr menu when I go back into game my flashlight was gone. Also having a setting option to switch the gun to the left hand would be awesome for the left handed players out there.

Although the movement in the wheel-barrel was a little stiff, the situation worked perfectly with the flashlight and pistol to create a very immersive atmosphere. I cannot wait to see how this develops.

Could do with some work but for free I can't complain. The aiming without the laser is near impossible and the head hitboxes are a little too small but overall it wasn't horrible as long as you had the laser. I don't know what people are talking about with motion sickness. Other than a little bit of weird positioning in the wheel barrel everything worked perfectly. Some optimization would be nice but not bad at all.

Loaded this up for the first time earlier this week, I had a spare hour before going to work Immediate thought was "wow, pretty creepy"..sense of dread in the game environment. Good gunplay and the lack of rounds in the clips is effective when under pressure. the first 2 levels were very effective (really straining to see the Z's coming out of the grass in the dark), but the last level went on way too long and the uphill angle does not work with the player standing on a flat floor (in reality), its causes a disconnect especially when turning around in that space little details like having the NPC interact more or tell a story whilst wheelbarrowing would enhance the immersion, as would detailing the zombies with different skins overall, an effective and frightening experience, that can only get better with further development. recommended to check out..its free as well :)

Very well done creepiness factor. Very atmospheric and great graphics. You also have the option of making it a bit harder, with the simple option of turning off your laser-sight, with the press of a button. Reloading at the right time will become part of your strategy and you'll be turning around with a nice feeling of dread, 'cos these guys know how to creep up on you :) Slightly on the hard-core side, no chance of motion sickness but with possible jump scares, so avoid showing it to young kids or elderly people, but a nice addictive creepy-shooter to show off to your friends. It will get them hooked in for 'just one more'.
