YEESSSSSSS!!! Oh man, i love it. If you've ever played Electroplankton for NDS it has a similar vibe. However, unlike Electroplankton, beneath the surface there's a depth to Lyra's capabilities that excites me. This won't replace your DAW anytime soon but I can imagine a whole host of ways it could be very useful - if not for traditional studio work DEFINITELY for some sort of musical VR soundscape experiences we've yet to see. I'm very excited to see where the devs take this. Currently there's a few CONS that stuck out immedietly: - Clunky Controls - Tutorial barely covers whats possible - It took some fumbling around to figure out that it has some powerful tools - Can't explore from in game my own sound libraries? (or couldn't figure out how) However the PROS outweight cons: - Polished and pretty - Little/no latency when triggering audio/samples - Visuals are crisp and clear (1080Ti, no supersampling) - As is powerful enough to make interesting and enjoyable music. - Fun Abso...

This is a beautiful game. I just can't believe you guys did all of this work and didn't make an "undo" button. Is it perhaps hidden somewhere? It's absolutely crucial. Even if just the last action. A lot of time I will accidentally delete something and I just want to instantly undo the mistake.
So I got this game on the Black Friday deal for $11.99. I think you are getting a good value for the price. It's also in Early Access development, so it has chance to work on it's current limitations. The dev is actively supporting the game so that's always good to see in EA. If you love music creation and VR, this is a must download, even at normal price. Positives + easy to create music right away + mostly nice sounds + lots of options, especially for this price point + ability to save, import sounds + some nice instrument sounds and drums Negatives - you're limited to single notes or dyads (two-note chords) - clunky controls when trying to create anything but the simplest compositions, especially on Touch controllers - tutorial not really helpful - needs more instruments I think for $14.99 you'd be hard pressed to get a better music making app. I'm just not sure if it's really easier to create something professional sounding with this app ver...
I just got Lyra recently, and while I play no instruments, I do love music. What's most amazing about this game is that I’m able to make exactly what I imagine right off the bat with some experimentation. It’s pretty surreal. Really glad I bought it.
This thing is awesome. I'm not very musically-inclined whatsoever. I don't know how to play any instruments but I feel as though I'm not tone deaf so I can slowly piece my own renditions of songs together myself. This app is perfect and well-laid out. You can move anything around, scale it, easily modify notes and delays between each note, and record to .wav. Lots of options for how to set up and layer your music. Very cool app. I look forward to see what's added in the future!
So far, very cool, and quite powerful.. if you like making music, give it a try... Even if you have soundstage already... its worth having as it is diffrent in its own great unique way.
It's an interesting music making app! It's a 3D xylophone, and you can sequence / compose melodies also. If that sounds like fun, you should buy this app. It's made for Vive, but it can partly work on Rift also. ( Probably full compatibility will come later. ) YouTube First Look ( Subscribe for more unusual music tech! ) https://youtu.be/_8d83seyK_g
Amazing! Almost exactly what I was hoping for from a VR music making platform, but more sounds and smoothing out a few of the mechanics would really make this (game?) shine!
Great VR instrument that is very capable of making some interesting loops and sounds. Keen to see this develop further in EA.
This is the best musical creation VR tool I have used. You can create music in several ways. One is in the from a building a connected graph of notes which can be triggered as a sequence or a sequence triggered by a loop. each node in the graph pcan be played individually as well. You can edit Pitch and Volume. It is priced fairly and seems likely to improve. To the developer: Features I would love. 1. The ability to set up a default pallet for pitch colors ( I use modified scribian color scheme to sight read by color) a. this would allow me to arrange a graph in circle of fifths pattern 2. The ability to set up a default pallet of mesh nodes shapes to show - position in scale. 3. ability to control triggers and possibly input using midi controllers. Please feel free to reach out for more feedback and ideas.
