It takes everything about the first game and improves on it. Really big jump in quality, and this is coming from someone who did enjoy the first game. It's a crime this goes on sale for $2, it is worth far more than that and I hope they eventually make a SWD3.

A fun game from start to finish. The end game feels a bit rushed like it lacks funding and had to be cut short . Digging is really fun. Quite unique in terms of gameplay. Good metroidvania . Final boss is really hard . Hopefully we will see SteamWorld Dig 3 in future.

awesome game, awesome art style and even better than the already peak prequel

Awesome sequel to an already great game. Compared to the first, it has much better visuals and more depth with the addition of leveling and "trinkets" that you can equip. Items like the dynamite and teleporter are ditched while new items have been added.

SteamWorld Dig 1 is great. But this! this is even BETTER.

Cool game. Much better than its predecessor.

Steamworld Dig 2 is the best 2D mining game I've ever played. The art style is beautiful. The sound design is brilliant. It creates an incredibly immersive atmosphere. The story and journey are a treat. The slow drip of new abilities, upgrades and enemies make a great RPG. The smoothness of controls are perfect. It's enough of a challenge to be enjoyable without bashing your head against a wall. A polished masterpiece.
