First of all, I want to say that I really like the game. The menu is simple and doesn't tire the eyes, the music is very compatible with the game and doesn't get boring while playing. While I thought it was an easy game, my thoughts changed in the first boss. The monsters are so well thought out, you can't escape even if you want to. Thanks to everyone involved. *a tip, if you skip some stairs to get through the levels quickly, you may not have that key when they ask you for a chest key in the future :)

Tim Tim 2 is a short and simple sidescroller that feels like a game you would have played before. It's a very short game, in that you can probably beat it in about 2 hours. Boss battles have simple enough patterns that could be challenging for younger audiences but could take a couple of tries for casual gamers, but they are well executed and not what you would expect, with the exception of the second dungeon boss. The story is very very simple, but the twist at the end is a solid laugh out loud moment. Tim-Tim 2 is a short game at a fair price and is worth your time if you are looking for a fun all ages sidescroller for your kid. It's linear for the most part but there's enough branching paths that help it scratch a non-linear itch for those who like to find their own way. Controls are tight and it plays perfectly with a game pad.

A charming little mini-metroidvania. Basic mechanics, very contained world, minimalist presentation, and a simple story - no surprises or anything groundbreaking, and yet I liked it more than many higher-budget games I played recently. No unnecessary crafting systems, random generation, RPG mechanics, fan service, or staggering difficulty - TT2 knows exactly what it is, and isn't trying to be anything else. Not to say it's all great though. Even though the world is pretty small, it's still large enough to get lost in, and complete lack of a map doesn't help. The game's inventory, or rather its encumbrance system feel a bit too involved and out of place in an otherwise very straight-forward game. You can only carry a grand total of 25 items across all types, and as your inventory is constantly clogged with junk Tim Tim auto-collects, it all has to be purged any time you come across a store. Lastly, I can't ignore the elephant in the room - the frame rate! For some unfathomable reason t...

The world is huge and the dungeons are just the right side of difficult. The end dungeon is hard as nails.

Basically alright. Metroidvania with some Zelda-esque dungeons. Not all spells have unlock utility and there's no "dungeon will now test your mastery" moments though, so structure can feel a bit strange at times. Could use a bit of balancing here and there (countered by the rather powerful potions you can carry) as there are some weird difficulty spikes and using some of the offensive spells feels almost mandatory (your melee option is extremely close range and some of the hazards are not easily dodgeable. Some of the pickups are rather well hidden as I combed the map (on that note, there is no in-game map) to a degree I considered thorough but ended with 97% still. Backtracking is rewarded well enough, even if compared to other Metroidvanias the amount of unique pickups can feel somewhat sparse.

It's a game that you should definitely try, the pixel art is beautiful and the music is impressive. Mechanics are fine. If you are interested in such games, definitely try it. If you haven't heard of it, give it a try.
