About the Game

Welcome to Thimbleweed Park. Population: 80 nutcases.

A haunted hotel, an abandoned circus, a burnt-out pillow factory, a dead body pixelating under the bridge, toilets that run on vacuum tubes... you’ve never visited a place like this before.

Five people with nothing in common have been drawn to this rundown, forgotten town. They don’t know it yet, but they are all deeply connected. And they’re being watched.

...Who is Agent Ray really working for and will she get what they want?
...What does Junior Agent Reyes know about a 20 year old factory fire that he’s not saying?
...Will the ghost, Franklin, get to speak to his daughter again?
...Will Ransome the *Beeping* Clown ever become a decent human being?
...Will aspiring game developer Delores abandon her dreams and stick by her family?
...And most importantly: how come no one cares about that dead body?

By the end of a long, strange night in Thimbleweed Park, all of this will be answered -- and you’ll question everything you thought you knew.

In a town like Thimbleweed Park, a dead body is the least of your problems.

It's a good game with a lot of content, but... the story wasn't very satisfying. They tried to do a thing, and I would have preferred they didn't. Edit: Actually, after thinking about it, Ive decided to switch this to a thumbs down. SPOILERSSS: While the gameplay is good, the story is just awful, especially the ending. The payoff is basically non-existent. The entire game just leads towards a big nothing, a fuckin' 4th wall breaking boring sequence that just makes everything seem pointless. Basically the ending was
"it was all a dream, you dont actually have to solve any mystery"
I wanted to love this so badly. Maybe I would have had a more satisfying time if I hadn't played it on Easy Mode, but alas. I am dumb of head. Even if I had played the original experience, though, I can't imagine how it would resolve my main issues, which were with the writing and characterization. I've had this thing sitting around on my wishlist for so long that I actually forgot who made it, and thereby got about halfway through the game thinking it was a sweet but embarrassingly stilted homage to LucasArts-era point-and-clicks - most of all, Monkey Island. I grew up watching my older brother play those games and feel a great affection for them. When I finally (re)realized these were the same creators... man. I don't understand it. Don't get me wrong, the gameplay, general story and artwork are all good. It's a smooth and aesthetically pleasing experience. But the DIALOGUE. I can't tell whether they've actually gotten worse at it, I'm biased by nostalgia, or the writing style jus...

Thimbleweed Park is so good I was actually sad when I finished it- I could have gone on playing for another 15 hours and loved every minute. The gameplay is faultless and has some really inventive elements, the story is hilarious and has more than one fun twist, and both the music and voice acting are impeccable The playable flashbacks and character introductions are a fun touch- they caught me off guard at first, but they are in keeping with the understated genius of a very simple looking game. This is the best of the best in the point-and -click adventure category- highly recommended.

Highly recommended for those of us who grew up on the classic adventure games of the 80's and 90's and also for newcomers to the genre who're looking for something different. Ron Gilbert's humour is always guaranteed to get at least a couple of chuckles out of you and the amount of detail and love that was put into this project can be easily noticed in the quality of the graphics, audio and depth of the game.

The game had good characters and an engaging plot. I just finished after sitting on the game for years.
