This game is fantastic. If you like puzzle games, you'll love this. If you like immersive in-game music, you'll love this. If you apprecaite hand drawn art styles, you'll love this. I really can't say enough good things about this game. The gameplay is reminscent of other puzzlers like Portal, The Bridge, The Turing Test, etc. and every time you think you finally have a handle on how everything works and you can blast through the next level, it adds another layer. Each level feels new, it doesn't feel like the game loses steam at any point, and the story is interesting and engaging all the way through. Highly recommend.

About This Game
The game is set in the ancient world of Yril, a once vibrant land now a faded shell of its former self. At an uncertain point in time, two kindred spirits have manifested themselves as the Rabbit and the Owl. You will guide them through tranquil forests, harsh deserts, crumbling cities, and more while seeing echoes of the past toward a fateful encounter in the depths of Mount Rulnar.
Key Features
- Rich puzzles:
The game naturally introduces and teaches puzzle-solving concepts as you progress. Each puzzle may draw on concepts learned before but always has a specific light bulb moment that is unique only to that level. Variety is the spice of life! - Low mechanical skill ceiling:
Mechanical execution of moving the characters, activating switches, using special abilities, etc. is designed to be less demanding for players who may not be the best at platformers or games in general. The puzzles are mostly solved through careful analysis of what to do -- the difficulty of actually completing them is kept to a minimum. - Atmospheric, cohesive aesthetics:
Unique, painterly artwork for every level and a soothing, original soundtrack to complement the game and the story. - Co-op:
Play solo by swapping between control of the Rabbit and the Owl, or play with a friend by plugging in a controller or two (currently only shared screen and officially tested for Xbox 360/One controllers). There is an unofficial workaround for playing online co-op, but your mileage may vary. Read more about it here. - Interpretive story:
Piece together the mythology of the world and Yril's past to discover why the Rabbit and the Owl are here now.

Great game. Saw this game showcased at PAX a few years ago, and it's nice to see it go gold on Steam. The creator's a down to earth passionate guy from what I could tell. I hope others give this game a chance.
Game was designed with interesting puzzles, beautiful artwork, and an awesome soundtrack. There are some pretty cool mechanics and you really have to think outside of the box at times to complete each area.
Relaxing music, nice art and the puzzles hit the sweet spot of being challenging, but not frustrating.
Gorgeous/relaxing puzzle game. R&O is like a quiet game of chess played on a rainy summer evening. Both the art and music are like a meditation. The puzzles are ingenious, starting off easy and then getting harder and harder, and the light/dark separation is an interesting mechanic. However, the rewards are worth it. I like how the progression and story are subtle, with the backgrounds showing a progression/journey toward some particular place, and all art is hand-drawn. Don't worry about playing alone, it is just fine on my laptop keyboard but I can see how having a second player (with controller) can be more fun to solve the game together. In any case, fantastic first effort from this studio--I hope to see more from them soon!
The Rabbit and the Owl is therapeutic, entertaining, and aesthetically pleasing. I expect this game will, at times, pose a challenge to players of all ages, though I feel the difficulty is never a deterrant and works to help the players feel rewarded by figuring out the more subtle problems. My wife and I really enjoyed playing this game together :] I definitely would recommend tRatO to anyone looking for a slow-paced, thoughtful puzzle-platformer.
This was a really fun puzzle game that my girlfriend and I enjoyed playing together. Highly recommend to anyone looking for local co-op puzzle games.
Me and my wife enjoyed this game.
Great puzzle game for couch coop.
Nice little puzzle game with interesting mechanics. Good for co-op I've played through with a few family members. The art is great.
