About the Game
Phantom Brigade is a hybrid real-time and turn-based tactical RPG, focusing on in-depth customization and player-driven stories. As the last surviving squad of mech pilots, you must capture enemy equipment and facilities to level the playing field. Outnumbered and out-gunned, lead the Phantom Brigade through a desperate campaign to retake their war-torn homeland.
KEY FEATURES:
- Cinematic spin on the turn-based genre – Predict enemy movements, orchestrate precisely timed countermeasures, and hit “execute” to watch the physics-based action unfold in real time.
- An exquisite arsenal – Railguns, beam weapons, missiles, energy swords, and more! Rain destruction down upon your homeland’s invaders with weaponry salvaged from each enemy mech you defeat.
- Strategy – Make high-level tactical decisions on the world map, manage your mobile base, and decide how to apply your limited resources.
- Tactical combat – Take command of your squad in varied missions ranging from sabotage of enemy equipment and convoy ambushes to liberation battles and challenging outpost onslaughts.
- Customization – Featuring a rich customization system, Phantom Brigade enables you to fine-tune the performance of your mechs, install a wide selection of equipment, and access a wealth of cosmetic options. Prepare your squad for any challenge - in style.
- Highly moddable – Phantom Brigade has been designed from the ground up to be highly player moddable. Mix things up by playing the game with a community mod enabled, or try your hand at creating your own modded masterpiece!
- Destructible environments – It's not a proper game about giant mechs without destructible buildings! Phantom Brigade allows every square meter of each battle map to be destroyed. Shatter your enemy’s cover and collapse buildings on top of them!

I really want to like this game, but I'm having trouble with overheating GPU. My 2020 pc has i9 32Gb with rtx3090 16gb liquid cooled radiator, finally forced me to buy a new monster pc with BIGGER uber liquid cooling, not cheap 4k. Would be very disappointed with the purchase if it still overheats. I'm playing with minimum graphics settings and its still overheating. I would only recommend for gamers confident in their pc cooling system. otherwise its not playable. can't complete long missions without this game killing my GPU.
Phantom Brigade is a turn-based tactical RPG that blends cinematic action with layered strategy in a way that few mech games have attempted before. Developed by Brace Yourself Games, this title places players in command of a squad of customizable mechs fighting a guerrilla-style campaign to reclaim a war-torn homeland. What sets it apart from other games in the genre is its unique hybrid of turn-based planning and real-time execution, underpinned by a predictive timeline mechanic. At its best, Phantom Brigade feels like orchestrating a carefully choreographed dance of destruction—where foresight and precision planning matter as much as firepower. Each battle begins with the player previewing the enemy’s next five seconds of movement and actions using the game’s timeline projection system. From there, you plot out your own squad’s maneuvers, anticipating where to intercept or flank, when to attack or retreat. Once the turn is set, all actions unfold simultaneously in real-time....
Very Underbaked. alot of the systems are poorly thought out. overall it is unenjoyable to attempt to get it to work. i imangen the only way to enjoy this game is if you find some mods that fix the unbeatable enemies. The game also doesnt teach you what it wants you to do.
I have attempted to like this game. I really have. But the basic idea of balance is lacking, even whenever i make the game "easier" according to the settings. I understand that this looks like a bad gamer complaining, however I have played Xcom EW, Xcom 2, Phoenix Point, Battetech, and various Mechwarrior games. While most of that list is turn based, I feel like I have a decent understanding of squad construction and tactics. There are times in this game where i will excel while still being outnumbered, and then i roll into a Home Guard battle and its 15 against 8 and they still have reinfornments... I'm not sure if its the Real time strategy, The home guard units killing themselves or crashing into my units (This is in fact my fault however lol), or the glaring issues with the number of enemies I encounter. If you've read this far and have any advice for me I'm all ears.
Phantom Brigade is a turn-based mech tactics game that I think absolutely stands next to giants like Battletech, Gundam, and Armored Core. It's unique game mechanic, prescient-simultaneous turns, makes the game an absolute amazing game in this genre. It has the most important thing you've come to expect from this genre;

mech customisation is detailed, allowing you to fine tune your mechs to do exactly what you want them to do.
There's a good heat system, with equipment and modifications that give passive cooling and active heat sink abilities.
The ammo system is very limited; only really special weapons have limited ammo, but they're very powerful.
Mechs are made of parts; legs, arms, torso, reactor, jumpjets, handheld weapons and equipment, there are even some fun "backpacks" you can use. Phantom Brigade has the classic light/medium/heavy weight classes and they play more of a role than just how much armor and how fast a mech is; collisions aren't ju...
Honestly is a cool game, but the slow startup to getting any cool mech parts and weapons kinda killed my motivation to keep going. That may just be bad RNG, but honestly was pretty cool while it lasted. The thing that really shocked me is that it's only like 8gb of game but looks as good as it does. It has a lot to offer without just being bloatware. If you like xcom 2 style campaign maps or doorkickers style combat planning, this hits the itch for both pretty well
Well exceeded my expectations. Not perfect, not balanced and not terribly deep but sometimes we all want to just go stomp for a few hours. At least I think we all do... 8/10 and excellent value.
this game is amazing for those who appreciate grand strategy games. U.I. looks good, game dose not feel clunky or have any game breaking bugs, and the time mechanic brings in an interesting take on turn based combat.
One of the best mech games i've played with a fun faux-real time gameplay that doesn't give you the assuredness of a "from the brink" but also more tactical knowledge of actions than an actual real-time game. The mech attacks/weapons and environmental destruction are what I wanted, and the open decision making of where to go to let me make my own choices for better or worse.
