Ninja Smasher!

One of my favorite games for sure. If you're bored and need a way to burn some time and don't have a lot of money I suggest picking this game up. After beating it the first time you then unlock 3 different character all with unique features to them which makes for a fun time when playing through the game again with them. Also, a great speedrun if you're looking for a metroidvania game to run.

I would describe Ninja Smasher as metroidvania-lite. You collect hidden powerups, defeat bosses, and gain new skills abilities (double jump, wall climb, etc.) as you advance through the game. However, the game is constructed in such a way that progress is quick and the next (or last) save point is never far because it is also a mobile game. As a result, it has the hallmarks of a metroidvania, but it has a much more arcade-y feel. You can expect to get about 3 hours out of the game for the first playthrough, but completing your first run unlocks three new heroes with different mechanics from the main character. If you really like the game play, I imagine you could squeeze another few hours out of these bonus heroes. The sound effects and music could be implemented better. If the game chose randomly between a few different sword strike sounds and had unique sound effects for secondary weapon hits, it would go a long way to reducing the monotony. One of my favorite 3DS eShop games gets a Steam port that runs a lot better than the 3DS version did! With a great look, addictive combat system and several bonus characters that outright encourage sequence breaking (making extra playthroughs of this game even more fun) This was a game I am certainly happy to have purchased on Steam after reviewing the 3DS version via a review code.

This game is an amazing game! You can play it in so many different ways and the controls are really satisfying! it was definitly worth the money!

Fun little metroidvania platformer

I love this game. the movement is very satisfying and you always feel in control of the character. The open world environment is great and the achievments allow a lot of replayablility

Combat in this game is very, very satisfying. I would also recommend it to the younger crowd as it is never unfair. B++
