The controls are very strange. Every track feels like you're on ice, whether you're in Norway or Kenya. The cars are uber sensitive to the tiniest movement and the physics are unrealistic, to the point of being unplayable. I don't think you can try to steer this car in an organic way, as in by reacting to what you're seeing; rather, you have to "learn" how to tackle every turn by rote memorisation. I bought this for the art style and tried to come back to this game on several occasions, each time being extremely frustrated and giving up shortly after. This is the kind of game that'd be fun to watch, if someone else had gone through the tedium of memorising every turn on every track, but not to play. I wish the other reviews had been more honest and addressed how this game is as frustrating to play as it is beautiful to watch.

Fun game with nice artstyle, really like playing it. It's casual enough to relax, but also hard enough to keep me going back and trying harder. The campaign is long, but not fully restricting all content. The freem roam is also nice too just cruise around in your favorite car. Very solid game for the price, if on sale its a steal!

This is one of the most charming, beautiful, fun and return-to-simply-because-I-want-to games I have ever played. As a HUGE 60s/70s/80s/90s Rally fan, art of rally has absolutely hit the nail on the head... An achingly pretty, yet incredibly intuitive, and replayable rally arcade/sim that gives you both the career structure of the big title rally games, without it feeling too heavy, and too dreary, and the adventure of an indie pixel-art game, that soothes the inner big kid inside us all. A beautiful selection of cars and locations, and a banging soundtrack too... Bravo!

Such a good game! You can tell a lot of heart and passion went into developing it. The art style is cute and timeless, and the driving physics are surprisingly "realistic" and satisfying. Easy recommendation for anyone into rally or racing in general.

I am really torn with this game, because while it’s cool to drive historically significant cars and see the low poly aesthetic and everything, this game has some major holes that prevent me from recommending it to anyone. First off, the camera is unusably bad to the point that I recommend the mod which puts you more behind the car on nexus. Once you get over that, you’ll notice the repetition in maps and lack of differentiation between them. It’s pretty annoying playing kenya 500 times with different cars and not having any meaningful difference in gameplay. Overall, I think this game has some of the pieces in terms of the game itself, but just can’t put it all together. That being said, that is only part of the reason I can’t recommend this. A significant reason for my distaste with it is the horrible performance. For a low poly game like this, I should not be having frame drops, let along full on lag sections which make me lose a race. I think that normally, this would be ...

ok as a music producer (who dabbles in synth), THIS is an AMAZING soundtrack with INCREDIBLE gameplay. Rally is such a mass reach motorsport that is cinematic, addicting and high skill. Reminds me of asphalt but with no wacky mechanics and pure downshifts and revs. Give the title theme "Shift" a listen and the same for "Will i see you Again?" YES modding IS offically supported and the community skins are amazing, there is not enoguh praise i can say <3

This game is awesome. You'll have to give the game a real try. The driving is not easy, there is a learning curve. Camera angle is kinda akward at the beginning, but once you play the game and get used to it, you understand why it is positioned this way. Graphics style depends on personal taste, i like it tho. And you get to drive with OG rally cars (not licensed, but mods for livery are VERY EASY to install. You'll just have to download a jpeg and add it to the game files. PLUS THE COMMUNITY MANAGER MADE A TUTORIAL FOR LIVERY, SO NO EXCUSES.) I got the game on sale at -50%, and can say that i've had a great value for my money. There can be some optimisation problems (stutters), personally i am blessed enough not to be much a victim of this. But some people have other experiences with this problem. Once i understood the driving mechanics, this game became a blast. more than 100 hours in and i am not done yet with this game. A lot of negative reviews here are clearly people wh...
