About the Game

Dive headfirst into a dystopian world devoid of society, law, and order. RAGE 2 brings together two studio powerhouses–Avalanche Studios, masters of open world insanity, and id Software, creators of the first-person shooter –to deliver a carnival of carnage where you can go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything.

An asteroid has annihilated 80% of the earth’s population, and humanity’s numbers are dwindling. Ruthless and bloodthirsty gangs roam the open roads and the tyrannical Authority seek to rule with an iron fist. As Walker, the last Ranger of the wasteland and a threat to their power, you have been robbed of your home and left for dead. Now you’ll have to rage for justice and freedom. With ludicrous vehicle combat, super-powered first-person mayhem, and an open world full of emergent madness, you will tear across an unforgiving wasteland battling sadistic gangs to find the tools and tech needed to crush the oppressive rule of The Authority once and for all.

Key Features:

  • WELCOME TO THE SHOOTERVERSE
id Software’s shooter pedigree and Avalanche Studios’ open world prowess is dream-team-made-real for RAGE 2. It’s more than a shooter, more than an open world game – it’s a shooterverse.

  • THE WASTELAND AWAITS
Seamlessly traverse a vast and varied landscape, from lush jungles and treacherous swamps to sun-scorched deserts in your pursuit of The Authority. The wasteland is massive, and you’ve got the arsenal to fight for every inch.

  • PEDAL TO THE METAL
From monster trucks to gyrocopters, use an assortment of rugged and wasteland-ready vehicles to speed across the badlands. If you see it, you can drive it.

  • THE LAST RANGER
Bring the pain using a collection of upgradable weapons, devastating Nanotrite powers, and Overdrive, the ability to push your guns beyond their mechanical limits.

  • FACTIONS & FOES
Fight against ferocious factions for control of the wasteland, each featuring a rogue’s gallery of madmen, mutants, and monsters hungry for blood.

TLDR; Its a Mad Max cross Biomutant amalgam with all the negatives and basically none of the positives. You'd expect a game with such bisexual color to be in the slightest bit quirky but its the most generic open world shooter to ever exist. Sure it looks nice at times, but the bright pink and cyan will give you a headache and a lot of the time you'll get flashbanged by the lens-aberration. The story and cast are super forgettable, the dialogue is almost always condescending towards the player and the times it isn't, its overtly in praise. The first person you meet during an intense firefight makes cutesy quips as her friends die around her, super weird and out of character. Rage 2 will crash at least once every hour, this is mostly from the spy drones being activated so avoid those like the plague. The combat is fine for maybe the first hour but it becomes so incredibly boring and easy, even on the highest difficulty! Biggest threat is gravity because when you fall a certain dis...

The issue with Rage 2 its an open world checklist game. practiclly all the quests are all the same. go here clear out this area. also the writing both the first game and this sequel have villains called the authority. seriously its that stupid. protaginist is dull too. combat is fun. thats about it.

The graphics are ok, when they're not massively glitching out Sometimes you can get stuck in a death/respawn loop and loose all your progress The auto drive will send you off a cliff the 'upgrade' genetic doc is broken and will kill you Even for bethesda this game is kind of a mess, it came out in 2019 and they still haven't manged to fix the game breaking bugs, it's an astounding heaping pile of flaming sh. . . The story line is cool though, but that's it's only redeeming quality since you'll be stuck starting over multiple times due to the game breaking bugs. So, it's not worth paying for, since it honestly can't even be played.

This game is what Cyberpunk should have felt like. Everything is awesome. I give it a "NO" because of bullet-sponge bosses which i have to re-do and that is no fun at all, and it just blocks me to continue the game and enjoy it. It feels like developers just want to NOT let me enjoy the product i bought, and i hate when they do stuff like this to games. You find a game you like, you play, you immerse and then its "wanna continue? nope... do this 20 times, ruin your evening and MAAAAYBE then...".

RAGE 2 is basically what you’d get if Mad Max and DOOM had a baby. The story’s whatever, but that’s not what you’re here for. You’re here to kill mutants, clear outposts, and cruise the wasteland in cool, upgradeable rides. Combat feels great with a bunch of awesome weapons, and the visuals are very decent. I'm running it at 1440p on a laptop with an RTX 3050 with 120fps with no issues. 10/10 recommend if you’re into fast action, cool gear, and open world mayhem.

Take Doom 2016, the Mad Max game and the orignal Rage and you have this game. From Doom 2016, they've taken the combat but made it boring. From Mad MAx they've taken the setting but made it stupid. From the original Rage, they've taken the core gameplay but made it slightly less boring.

still one of the best post-apocalyptic mad-maxesqe type games there ever was and the first of the FPS franchises to truly master the fusion of vehicles and FPS in a setting inspired by cars, guns, and nuclear deserts (namely, the Mad Max franchise). I spent dozens of hours playing this upon release and now that i have it on steam i imagine it will be a regular "comfort game" that i fondly return to from time to time. this game is awesome and fun. the combat is some of the most satisfying and rewarding that i have ever experienced.

Don’t get the hate. This game is fun. Shooting is modern doom-like, car chases are Mad Max like, story is forgettable but doesn’t get in the way. Good fun.

Very different from the first game. More like the newest Borderlands games now but okay.
