About This Game

Runes is a unique puzzle game where you need to arrange the marbles in each and every level to match the picture in the upper-right corner. The less moves you use to do that, the more stars you'll earn. Each of the pieces can only move in the direction of their arrows, so your moves must be thought out and planned in order for the orbs to arrive at their designated places.

 • Complete 120 hand-crafted puzzles
 • 6 color and music themes
 • Enjoy more than 15 hours of gameplay

Runes is a casual puzzle game with a simple mechanic. The objective is to match the image shown by sliding the marbles along the grid in the directions that are shown on them to swap position with another marble. The difficulty progressively get harder across the 120 levels and completing them in the least amount of moves becomes a challenge so completing them all with a gold star can give you many hours of game play, well worth of the low price. There's a clean and easy to use interface to play on and has a nice sound track plus a level select screen to continue from where you left off or go back to retry previous levels and get a better turn rating.

I like it, has me thinking, it reminds me a bit of the chess mini game within Watch_Dogs in that you can always win but you want to do it with as few moves as possible. Here I also want to add a couple of things that aren't totally apparent (well, the first prob. is.. :)) the arrows on the things tell you how they can move on the grid, two: the number of moves are calculated over the amount of squares you move and not each time you move one of the things. (if it can move only to the right and there are 3 squares it can move you can do that in one turn but it counts as three moves as it moves three squares) I do not regret spending this minute amount of cash on this game, it's going to stay on my PC and even if it won't be played daily it will remain on the PC as the graphis are exactly what's needed and they will never grow too old to enjoy the game.

slide colored balls in the directions they can go to replicate the layout in the corner. 120 levels, 3-star rating system based on the number of moves, bronze and unlocking the next level guaranteed if you solve a level in however many moves. I only played the first half because it was already repetitive and boring after about 20 levels, and believe me, I love my sliding games. I looked at a few levels from the second half, but found no new mechanics, so decided to stop wasting my time, and the lack of very basic functionality certainly didn't help. there are much better sliding games out there with a user-friendly wrapper around more varied and fun gameplay, take a look at our list on the curator page. pros: - cheap - nice music - no timer - unlimited undo - exit button (shouldn't even be mentioned but see below) cons: - repetitive, uninspired, a lot of symmetrical levels - no mechanics besides the...

I don't kno what exactly has gone wrong, but I don't have fun with this. Feels so boring like if it was work to do, just without getting paid. I quite easily went through 12 levels but I didn't have fun. Yes it might exercise your brain if that is what you seek, and it has ok graphics, and it dind't crash, but that's all to it. And if I went through those levels in less than 2 minutes per level, it means it is also very short game, with 120 levels altogether (4h altogether), but for the low price that would be ok. Except the missing fun, there is also missing sound volume control and no music selection. I cannot understand how anyone can create game with sound and music and not let users control it. Can you imagine that you would buy a radio and you would not be able to adjust volume? This is hard to understand. I believe it is pretty easy to create such control so I have no understanding for this. Some developer's thinking puzzles me really. This looks maybe more like succesful test o...

I liked pretty much everything I can think of about this game. The visuals as well as the soundtrack are pleasing, navigating the menus is very smooth as are the controls. The difficulty ramps up nicely, although it didn't feel strictly linear to me. The two levels I just could not beat and required outside help were levels 39 and 115. Some others took me quite a few tries and provided a nice challenge. One minor complaint would be the missing option for the sound ingame. I had to go to the Windows volume mixer to adjust it. Which wasn't a huge deal by any means. It would just be a little bit more elegant to have this option available in some game menu. Also, there were some levels that felt more like filler to me because they were just too straightforward. Overall a definite recommendation for everyone who likes puzzle games!

Runes is a simple, lazy minimalist 2D mobile app-like placement/pathing puzzle game where you're presented with a picture showing the target alignment of balls, and you must move the balls around to fit that target. Two catches... as the screenshots show, the balls move in only one direction, so you need to plan out how they move carefully, and you also have just a limited number of moves. And just like a crappy mobile app, if you get it right, you get 1-3 "stars", so the developer clearly designed this game for mobile peasants and their iPhones, and not PC gamers and their gaming rigs. So this is a problem already. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as...
