About This Game
Playing as Alyx Vance, you are humanity’s only chance for survival. The Combine’s control of the planet since the Black Mesa incident has only strengthened as they corral the remaining population in cities. Among them are some of Earth’s greatest scientists: you and your father, Dr. Eli Vance.
As founders of a fledgling resistance, you’ve continued your clandestine scientific activity—performing critical research, and building invaluable tools for the few humans brave enough to defy the Combine.
Every day, you learn more about your enemy, and every day you work toward finding a weakness.
ABOUT GAMEPLAY IN VR:
Valve’s return to the Half-Life universe that started it all was built from the ground up for virtual reality. VR was built to enable the gameplay that sits at the heart of Half-Life.
Immerse yourself in deep environmental interactions, puzzle solving, world exploration, and visceral combat.
Lean to aim around a broken wall and under a Barnacle to make an impossible shot. Rummage through shelves to find a healing syringe and some shotgun shells. Manipulate tools to hack alien interfaces. Toss a bottle through a window to distract an enemy. Rip a Headcrab off your face and throw it out the window.
COMMUNITY-BUILT ENVIRONMENTS
A set of Source 2 tools for building new levels is included with the game, enabling any player to build and contribute new environments for the community to enjoy through Half-Life: Alyx's Steam Workshop. Hammer, Valve’s level authoring tool, has been updated with all of the game's virtual reality gameplay tools and components.

Funny how this set the bar for VR games over 5 years ago, and still no one has been able to surpass it.
Hands down the best PCVR game till date, THIS is how VR is meant to be experienced. Words don't even begin to do this game justice, it is an experience in itself which can only be described as mind blowing. Borrow a VR headset if you have to, but don't let anyone, including me tell you how the game is. You need to experience it for yourselves.
When I play this, I am literally saying “holy sht” every 5 mins, this game puts you into your own Hollywood sci fi action horror movie….videos you see on YouTube don’t do it justice at all. First 2 mins there’s a big bug in a jar, I crouched down to look at it, it looks so real….i tap on the glass….and notice next to him is like a fish flake shaker thing, pick it up shake some in……HE FUUUCKING lovessssssss it we re best mates now.
REALLY F*CKIN GOOD GAME! Could not imagine what it was before Freeman appeared back. Gameplay was MEGA immersive, could interact with literally every object in game, aswell as see cool liquid physics :3 First VR game for me tho.......... BUT FINALLY, I HAVE EVERY HALF LIFE GAME THAT WAS MADE BY VALVE 10/10
This game, while being extremely good, completely ruined vr for me. It's so good that all other vr games feel like complete trash. If you get a vr headset just for this game, just try some other games first. Despite that, half life alyx is EXTREEMELY fun and I don't think I have ever been so immersed in a vr game before. Of course, it's a valve game so it's going to be good and the money is completely worth it. The game is NOT half life three. I don't know how many times I have had to tell people that, but it is a key part in the story of the franchise. Everything in the game just kinda works. The people at Valve really knew what people would look for in a VR game and they did it perfectly.
Half-Life Alyx is a fantastic VR singleplayer game, which tells the story of Half-Life 2 from another perspective like the classic Half-Life games and addons (like Blueshift, Opposing Force aso.): • The possibilities in this VR game are groundbreaking, I played it with Quest3 via Airlink and Steam VR. • The controls are one of the best I've seen so far in VR, but I recommend to change the movement-settings to "shifting-movement", not jumping-movement! • The story ist fantastic, but you should have played HL2 before! I would like to see more Half-Life in VR, best in the HL2-Universe. Great would be a Multiplayer-Mode in future updates or addons, like HL Deathmatch!
Life-size zombies literally caused me so much anxiety I had to play the game over the span of years. The game design is amazing! The game was designed to take advantage of the VR interface. The pacing is great! So many fun moments!
This game has it all, action, adventure, gore, and jump scares.
Probably the most interesting VR game I can think of for the meantime. The controls are the best they can be for the platform... think some games namely things like VRchat need to implement stuff like this. Not nauseating at all compared to other vr games. Graphics are wonderful from what I see. The storyline just like the rest of half-life is pretty damn cool. I took my time to play this game so I saw all the nooks and crannies as much as I could.
