This game shows some promise, and if you read the Early Access description it sounds like the devs have great plans for the future. What I'd like to see in future updates are more character creation and game types. Perhaps a challenger could set rules for a duel such as what weapons are allowed, the space between the shooters, or which location the duel takes place, and the challenged player could either accept, decline, or negotiate the rules. Other game types could involve more than just two shooters (imagine a 3 or 4 person duel!) or a contest to shoot target practice objects quickly. A full character creation would be great too. Getting money for winning a duel could be used to purchase cooler hats, bandannas, jackets, gun skins, you name it. Killing the other player in one shot is fun for now, but I'd like to try a gametype where players have health bars and take more damage in certain areas. For now I'd say it's worth it's price, but note that it will go up as they add new elem...

About This Game

Unforgiven is a VR game for HTC Vive that lets you become a western duelist and face other player in a real shooting duel where a split second can make the difference. The game allows you to search for fast duels with anyone or duel the IA in several rounds to decide who wins and who losses. There are several characters available, different weapons to use and even additional modes that let you practice your aim through different types of challenges (such as shooting cans in your ranch).
But none of that accurately describes the best of Unforgiven VR: the thrill of facing another player knowing that only one of you can win… and the other one will die.

Select one of the available characters and start your journey in the wild west.

-- A new character is coming to the town every few weeks --

Dueling is hard and dangerous, not everyone is gifted with the ability to shoot a weapon, but practise makes perfection and in the training field you will be able to shoot some objects to tune your aim before challenging someone.

We divided our development in different stages grouping features. To be playable some of the early stages will have temporary systems that will be replaced with the final ones when all the pieces are there. Next you can find an approximation of what will include every stage:
Stage 1: Any Gun Can Play
You will be able to select one of the 4 characters and challenge other online people or the AI to duel on 1 scenario and score for a leaderboard based on your win/loss ratio. Do you need to improve your aim? No problem, you can go to the training area to practise.Stage 2: The Saloon opens its doors
Tired of shooting your friends? Take a break in the saloon, play poker with other people or join a knife throwing game while you wait for someone to duel you. The training area will be enhanced with challenges like “shoot three times in the air that can”. What you want more shooting? No problem, there will be new characters and scenarios to play with.Stage 3: Become a legend of the wild west
Forget about the old leaderboard. Now you will have to create a character and start your journey to become a true legend. Duel someone for a fistfull of dollars, but be careful, now you can get hurt or even die, and it will mean to lose your character and creating a new one. Ah, and remember, now your ammo will deplete, go to the general store and buy some more. As usual, new characters, weapons and scenarios will come with a enhanced saloon with more places to interact with.Stage 4: The Town becomes a city
Dress like a sir, die like the rest, more aesthetic and gameplay complements, you know, a good flask in the pocket could stop a bullet. But be cautious, being hurt in a duel will make easier to be killed in the next, take a break to restore your health or… visit the barber and it will fix you up in a minute… for a price. Not the only new pal in the city, new characters will come and a new NPC, the undertaker, that will immortalize you in the Valley of Crosses. Last but not least, sometimes we will be able to find special cards that will come with item drops.Extra Stage: Magnificent 7
Group with your friends for the ultimate dueling experience. Will you try to rob the bank? Be careful, maybe there are other parties that will try to stop you.Screenshots
User Reviews
This game does not work. When I run it it just shows a blue/gray screen/view and nothing else. Nothing else happens. My PC is new and all other VR games (HTC Vive) work fine. DO NOT BUY!
Fun little game, has a lot of potential but it is a little limited atm. My only suggestions a) fix the gripping system, in a duel I find that sometimes the grip doesn't work and I come up trying to shoot empty handed. b) add more content i.e. different challenges (defend the town against raiders would be fun) Great game, my favorite shooting mechanics in vr so far.
This game seems like a lot of fun if it worked properly. The premise is that you duel with AI or other players. The issue is that the gripping of your pistol to draw it doesn't work properly. So that is a massive negative mark against the game. If the main component of your game is faulty, then it is impossible to give a postive score. I'll try the game later in hopes that the grip issue has been fixed.
Fantastic looking lil western shooter. Can play against other players (small playerbase at the moment but you can help that - yes YOU review reader!) or Bots in order to increase the bounty on your head. Love the little touches with the wanted poster etc. Guns take a little getting used to due to the calibration - if you look down at the holster to figure out where your hands need to be then you're gonna miss grabbing them as the holster moves up naturally as you straighten your body - instead look dead on into the opponents eyes and feel for the vibration from the controllers when you put your hands down to the holster, thats how ya get the guns easier :) The games roadmap promises so much more for the future so really looking forward to seeing how it evolves over time. Biggest problem at the moment is getting a multiplayer game - not because of a lack of other players but because theres no lobby system to meet other players outside of the duel, and sitting waiting for another pl...
Ok this game is in the earliest stage according to the road map, so feedback is a bit tricky since we are only seeing a part of the game. But that said, the game actually do look promising, I peeked inside the closed saloon and I can't wait to lose all my bloodmoney in poker. The gun play is quite precise, the holster placement is a bit wonky though, I would have liked an option to determine exactly where I wanted my pistols in relation to my headset, but it is not a problem or hinderance at all. I fought a few players and it worked really well, lag doesnt seem to have any effect, and it is fun clapping after being killed, or doing the sunbro when winning, we also walked like eqyptians :) I can easily see this being a fun game to play on and off, the poker is a great way to spend the money from wins, I havent seen any shop in the town, but we will be able to buy other stuff later according to the roadmap, I very much desire pearl handles and a huge sombrero.
I've had this game for ages now and at first it didn't work. Just shows a blue void whenever I tried to load it up. So I stopped trying. Every few months since, I've tried again. That same blue void. It doesn't look like I'm alone in this issue, either. To be honest, if the development team don't care to address this kind of issue, I hope they find themselves a different field to work in.
quite enjoy jumping on here for a couple duels now and again, I like the feedback from the vive controllers when your hands are in the correct positions to grip your guns, however I noticed recently when you look down at your guns prior to the duel starting to position your hands and then look back up at your opponent it changes the position of your hips (makes the guns slightly higher) so you need to adjust for that, since noticing that I no longer raise empty hands and get killed. overall I don't regret my purchase, would be nice to have some people to duel/play poker with which is a downfall of many vr titles so far, until that time i will continue to work on my hip fire instead of raising my gun fully to aim. For anyone having the same problems I was having with raising empty hands I hope this helps, and I hope to be able to shoot you in a fair fight online :)
Trying to grab the pistol to shoot the opponent is almost imposible. Also, there's no way to calibrate your height right. This game is frustating and impossible to play.
This game should be 1$
