The Story
The game takes place many billions of years ago in the center of the universe, the first planet that all other planets were seeded from. Due to it's unusual rotation, one side of the planet is always in darkness and the other always in light.

Every few thousand years a small moon passes between the planet and sun to create a long lasting eclipse that allows the beings from the dark side to travel among the light.

The current time period is during this eclipse. You play as Grygor, a being form the dark side (or so you believe) sent on a mission to destroy temples of light and allow safe passage for your people during the eclipse.

Uncover the story of both sides of the world, it's many generations of tribal law and unforgiving landscape during this opportune moment in time.
You are the future of our past.
You are the Shadow within the Shadow.

https://youtu.be/TYGrj6Qpb88 OK,. Primordian is a pretty game. I'm starting with the positive things here. The graphics are very nice! Hand Models are nice, character models are great, animations are great. some of the best I've seen in VR. For me at this point though that is where it ends. When I booted this title up I was blown away by the graphics. The opening menu even. The you are transported into a nice little cut scene to give you a bit of story and also just blown away. You start off in this strange forest full of strange creatures, bugs, odd plant life, giant snakes,. (yes for those of you that are terrified of snakes,. be warned.) you can choose at the begining to use smooth coupled or decoupled. I kinda feel like you choose decoupled or you are wrong. haha. but it works really well. I only have 30 minutes in the game thus far but really it just doesn't call me back. This is a combat game and the combat,. well,.. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Graphics...

WOW! So I have only played a little bit so far, and I gotta say, this is one of the best looking VR games out there, and the controls feel great. Perf is also fantastic, I had many a moment where there was all kinds of particles and shit on screen, and still didnt hit reprojection. I did have a moment where I think it may have kicked in, but if it did it was quick and resolved fast. There was a bug last night related to a bridge, but the developer has already fixed it. This game is like a combo of Turok and Avatar, beautiful colors on a beautiful alien world, that is both ancient and dangerous. I think there should be a better way to manage your actual weapons, but what is there works fine. maybe in an update later they can make it so you can hit a key on your item menu on the wrist that will make a weapon wheel. Does not seem to have a pause menu, but its not like you are going to actually want to remove the headset, the game is so damned pretty.

Get this excellent built-for-VR game! It is well worth the price, and will transport you to a fantastic world of beautiful and awe-inspiring environments and creatures. The promise of new content over time makes this a must have game for every VR library, and should be one of the standards for VR games going forward. 1. Graphics/Immersion: Supperior to vast majority of VR titles. The scale of the world is awe inspiring, the details of the weapons and interactive objects are beautiful and very unique. The creatures are imaginitive and diverse. 2. Combat: The standard for combat in VR is Gorn. The combat here doesn't reach that level of physics based combat, but still surpasses the vast majority of VR titles. There is a bullet time feature that kicks in automatically, and multiple weapons are acquired throughout the game. 3. Locomotion Options: There are currently two types of free locomotion, one headset directed and one controller directed (both use trackpad to move) I hope te...

GEEZ! I'm lost for words on this one. I played for like 10 minutes and it left an impression. On a finely tuned system running VR Supersampling 3.2, it is without question THE best walk through and I mean walkthrough the forest intro right before i start looking for the weapons EVER!!!!!!!!!!! The clarity of the graphics and the superb sharpness is simply amazing. Frightening from my perspective. The sheer size of the 30 foot spider walking in a forest with trees or should i call them grass 50 feet high with red eyes peeking through the dark areas is totally breathtaking. The depth I interpreted from my headset is deep! Colors are right, textures belong in the 4k group. The audio voice is superb. The Music, most likely inspired by vangelis is amazing. The SPecial EFFECTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "HOLY SPECIAL EFFECTS BATMAN!" As for gameplay, Not there yet because i'm haunted by the clarity. As soon as I pass this impression, I will post more. This reminds me of the time when ...

I really don't get the hype. It does look good but nothing better than other things i've seen. Combat, its ok. Boring though, found myself just slashing up and down because there was no really purpose to it. Massively disappointed even in its early access state. Refund!

Seriously unpleasant VR experience. I felt sick almost straight away after starting arcade mode. I've spent hours and hours at a time in other VR games without issue. Main issue is movement, it uses the left stick as a way of sliding/floating around the arena. It would be better with a teleport style movement eg robo recall style. Also combat felt really clunky, not much actual contact. TBH, it was also a bit boring! I've played so much better games than this, early access or not. Felt like perhaps it was trying to hard.

As others have said, great graphics, but not much depth to this game beyond the scenery. Starts off great, almost thought they had a story going, then......... nope. You meet one villain you whack at em, you meet another villain you whack at em...repeat a few times....the end. It was kind of rude of this game to trick me into thinking they had something. I am desperate, desperate for another good VR game, please somebody! is anyone listening? We need a good VR game! Earth to developers! They've got this stuff we need looking like some good candy, just to find out we've all been smoking some oregano.

Very pretty for a VR title and remains performant even at 120 Hz. Hopefully there are more biomes in future levels. https://youtu.be/4viIbv-TMdc The audio could get a tad loud at times and it would be nice if the deep voiced narrator was a tad louder or the game audio was reduced while he was speaking. The gameplay is much more arcadey than I was expecting. This ins't necessarily a bad thing just not quite what I was expecting going in. Melee combat is less about precision and more about blindly swinging for the head. Even on the hardest setting combat was simultaneously laughably easy and extremely chaotic. Often times you don't know why you got hit or from where. I couldn't tell how to prevent that damage. Parrying seemed to work in a slow one on one fight but with larger numbers it seemed a less reasonable option. To be honest though it didn't seem to matter as we were flooded with armor and health items. For the icing on the combat cake, waggling to win appears to be a thing....
