About This Game

Stationeers puts you in control of the construction and management of a space station to run by yourself in single player, or online multiplayer with your friends. Complex atmospheric, electrical, manufacturing, medical, agriculture, and gravitational systems require your thought and management at all times!

Stationeers is designed for hardcore players who want a game that is systems oriented. Full utilization and optimization of these complex systems will only come from great knowledge and practice. The game presents a variety of science-based survival problems that you must address. Resource and time pressures will drive your initial designs, but the demands of a thriving station will guide you later.

Features

  • Construction system rewards well-designed architectural, atmospheric, and electrical plans.
  • Atmospherics system for temperature, pressure, combustion, gas mixtures, water, and fire.
  • Physics on dynamic items in the world such as wall fatigue and explosive decompression.
  • Dangerous environments to explore & develop including exotic planets, and asteroid belts.
  • Deformable voxel terrain on worlds and asteroids that enhances mining and exploration.
  • Construct complex factories using machines, conveyors, and computers.
  • Ubiquitous logic system to automate every aspect of your base.
  • Write programs using Integrated circuits & assembly code to automate your systems.
  • Farm livestock and grow plants as a integral part of the station’s ecosystem.
  • Many aspects of the game offer full modding support via the Steam Workshop.
  • Designed from the ground up for multithreading to improve performance + scalability.

Space is empty and the planets are unforgiving to human life. You and your friends initially must decide how to meet your basic needs. Longer term, you will need to engineer solutions to power, heat, resource, and atmospheric problems. Build the most efficient systems you can by utilizing machines and programmable computers to develop automated systems.

Whether on a distant lonely planet, or deep inside an asteroid field, you control every aspect of building & running your station. Harvest nearby resources and use a wide range of tools to construct the ultimate station. Everything your station requires will be built and managed by you and your friends.

What do you do with all that ore you mine? Process it through machines and turn it into goods for more construction of course! There are lots of specialist machines to build and configure such as smelters, sorters, centrifuges, stackers, conveyors, fabricators and more.

Our robust, thriving community has been sharing their creations with us through the Stationeers Steam Workshop since 2017. Join us and build the future of tomorrow... today!

Its been almost a decade and they still haven't updated the UI to be remotely more user friendly to modern times. No I don't want to press the number keys or scroll wheel to access my inventory, just let me use my freaken mouse and click and drag, its it that hard?, I'm not sure what the appeal of having it vice versa is, it doesn't feel realistic if that's what the goal was, it just feels like tedious clicking for a sandbox builder. Yes I know about the pressing alt mouse feature they added, but don't you think this should be default, the other one is not fun even for people who like hardcore sims. This should be a hidden difficulty early access classic feature, if this game wants to advertise to new people

the tutorials are still broken after 8 years. The game basically forces you to go to other people in order to learn the basics because the devs will not fix the tutorials so i had to go to youtube to learn how to set up o2. if they fix the tutorials ill change my review but dont count on them doing so.

Stationeers is a game you don't admire or enjoy until you have a deep understanding of very complex base building and physics. I once had a pipe (from what I can assume) fill the lower levels of my base with a flammable gas (100% Oxygen), that ignited because of a quick wiring solution that cost me dearly. The wire sparked and ignited the gas, which blew up a large portion of my base... I was already 30 hours into this base. The devs greatly care for this game because instead of forcing out content, they are constantly fixing bugs, graphical issues, and optimizing the game. Yes, they are slowly adding new content, but they are fixing issues along the way. This game has very complex systems on atmospheric pressures and temperature automation. What is the downside to this game? The UI. Everyone agrees, it's weird and awkward for new players. It makes sense why the UI is as janky and technical as it is. I imagine in the future they'll make something more streamline. If you can play a ga...

The library page still has the pressurised rover that was removed :( I am really happy that the devs have been putting in good work to keep the game improving significantly recently (check the discord). I also know the rover was buggy, but it looked so cool, and is still in a bunch of their promotional material. Kinda sad that they've not seemed to make any effort to fix it, given that they'll still use it to sell the game.

Cant connect to friends without constant errors. I did not buy this game to play alone. I can not recommend a game that has coop options but fails to deliver.

love this game. Their continued effort in the STEM related fields is awesome. I think their games are amazing because you're forced to solve complex issues with your own knowledge and through trial and error which is exceedingly rewarding. Can't wait until KSA makes an appearance so until then i'll be playing this.

Very deep and engaging survival game. So many in-depth systems that allow for very creative problem solving and base development. Takes a few days to get a basic grasp but when you do, its so much fun. Very high ceiling for progression.

This game keeps getting better and better - it has a steep learning curve but gives you some incredible AhHA! moments. Playing with gasses and fluids to keep yourself alive is entertaining when it goes wrong.

Early access review 2025-08-26 Tl;dr - Good basis for a space survival/building/crafting game that is still in development. --- Positives : Good crafting system Extensive mechanics system around temperature/pressure Good building options Good interactions and feedback from the developers Negatives : Somewhat steep learning curve (mitigated mostly by tutorials/guides) Somewhat necessary use of programming/logic to get the most out of the game that might put some people off --- I've been looking at Stationeers for a while now and I finally picked it up a few days ago. It's a lot of fun so far, with pretty extensive crafting mechanics coupled with a smelting sytem for ores and making alloys that integrates well into a reasonably deep crafting system. From the videos and such that I've seen I'm assuming there's a lot more planned and I'm looking forward to it - they're in the terrain beta at the moment and it's shaping up well so far by all reports. The developers seem very active ...
