Look, I LOVE Hotline Miami, but that one, the clear inspiration, has: 1. Kill everyone in an area Compared to: 1. Shout at everyone until they surrender 2. If they try to run or don't comply, melee them (even if they have a gun in their hands you can't shoot) 3. If they pull a gun, you have a reaction speed test before they oneshot you 4. Every time you don't kill someone, you have to go up and arrest them (slightly buggy animation) 5. Every enemy with a weapon leaves evidence to pick up, same evidence spawns around the map as well 6. Certain mandatory bonus objectives appear as well I'm not saying adding more mechanics is a bad thing, just that in a skill based game you need quick restarts when you mess up so it doesn't get annoying to re-do the same portions of a level several times in a row It gets even worse since you don't see people until they're in line of sight, so sometimes suspects can draw their weapons before you see them- unless you shoot everyone on sight (which you can...

About the Game
Inspired by SWAT 4 and gritty police TV shows, Police Stories is a fresh take on top-down shooters with an emphasis on tactics that forces you to make split second decisions. Neutralize criminals, rescue civilians and defuse bombs in Single Player mode or Online Co-op. And remember - shooting first is not an option!
Unforgiving and tense, each mission tells a story of two police operatives - John Rimes and Rick Jones, filled with infiltrating gang hideouts, rescuing hostages, making arrests and other life-threatening situations.
The Surrender System allows you to apprehend the suspects without resorting to violence. Fire a warning shot near them or engage them in melee combat - those are just some of the ways you can make them submit.
Issue commands to your fellow cop Rick Jones. Make sure to use him wisely - and who knows, he might save your life in return.
Randomly placed criminals, hostages and evidence make every level run unique. The placement changes every time you restart, leading to new interesting situations and opportunities.
As a law enforcement officer, you will have access to end-of-the-line police equipment, such as under-the-door cameras, door blast charges and many others.
Various types of lawbreakers, from small petty criminals to well organised gangs and terrorists. Each type has not only unique weapons, but different behaviour and shooting skill.
Complex Tactical Gameplay: Try not to get spotted, don't waste bullets, regularly check your surroundings and make sure to take criminals down quietly.
All your actions are scored in real time. Playing aggressively won't get you a high enough result to start the next mission - so keep that in mind!
Co-op. Complete mission together for better scores and more fun!

10/10! Played with my make a wish little brother he found it thrilling!
fun and interactive
Police Stories is a top-down shooter with charming pixel graphics and solid mechanics that keep the gameplay engaging. The co-op experience is absolutely fantastic—tactical, tense, and requiring real coordination between players. Sound design is fitting and supports the atmosphere well. On the downside, the story is quite simple and forgettable, and the overall length of the game is short. Considering the relatively high price, some may find the content a bit limited. Still, if you’re looking for a fun, tactical co-op game to enjoy with friends, Police Stories is a great pick. Rating: ★★★☆☆
This game has major problems with its controls, the properties of the tools you use (including the firearms), the level randomization, and certain types of enemy behavior randomization. In case you couldn't tell from that list, the game is a train wreck. It has a solid premise, but the execution is far too poor to have been released to the public in this state. If you feel like buying this game, try the free tutorial called "Police Stories: the Academy".
7.5/10. Would recommend only with discount.
Good game! fun and short, quite challenging at the beginning specially because they don't tell you about the controls, but you can melee with f, that's a game changer tbh, out of the 5 hrs the first 2 were in the first level.
its really well made, great job to the creator(s)
AMAZING loving it so far just got the zombie dlc and have been playing none stop SO GOOD currently on a discount SO CHEAP get this game its gas its amazing its addicting and SO AMAZING.....but the levels are super hard to unlock i wich i could just beat a mission and go to the next i also wish there was a difficulty setting since its very tough its still fun to grind out that one mission to me but it can get very infuriating along with the fact your partner dies so easy and is so useless most the time but over all its great
