STORY: It looks like they tried hard to write a proper story, but it just lacks a gripping element to actually make you care about anyone, even the main character. Aiden is a more bland, weaker, temu version of Kyle Crane in pretty much every way, even though they have similarities. Both voice actors have similar voices, Aiden and Kyle use the same vocabulary, same way of threatening, yelling, cursing etc. Physically, they also look very similar, Aiden is like a less bulky, less masculine version of Kyle. Zero originality about Aiden, so much so that a meeting between Kyle and Aiden doesn't sound exciting at all, it's like Naruto from the anime meeting Naruto from the live action movie. Kyle was not an original name, yet they couldn't even give Aiden a more original name than Kyle, Aiden just sounds like a soy-drinking OnlyFans subscriber. Seriously, don't name your kids Aiden. Lawan was supposed to be the new Jade, the female a$$-kicking machine that has a soft spot for the protagon...

Just play the first game. Everything is markedly worse than the first, even after their "reloaded" update. Combat feels worse, parkour is floaty and barely responsive at times. For some insane reason they decided we needed an rpg class system for gear that can roll stats that effectively do nothing (such as sense being expanded or longer when on harder difficulties it's disabled anyway!) Don't get me started on the ungodly amount of resources they want you to farm for your consumable items and recipes to be leveled up. Oh and of course weekly and daily challenges to try and milk your play time out even further. Including a set of weeklies that unlocks a weapon that has NO OTHER WAY TO GET than siding with a particular faction in the main story. patch 1.24 removed parkour stamina. i’m really bummed about this. the whole game was built around it, climbing windmills and radio antennas used to be a proper challenge. you had to manage your stamina and plan each jump, and hunting inhibitors let you upgrade it to reach higher spots. that loop made exploration feel rewarding. now you can just spam climbs with no thought, and it takes away the sense of skill and progression. please revert this, or at least give us a toggle.

Game sucks. Exploration is meaningless, makes no sense to explore the map since you complete an objective and it resets the day after. Also open world looting is boring since you can't find BPs or good weapons at all.

This was in my top 5 games of all time but Techland keeps listening to Dying Light 1 purists and changing the game for the worse. They removed the fucking parkour stamina, you can just climb anywhere you want from the beginning with no need for upgrades or new parkour moves, you can slowly climb your way up there while boring yourself to death. Nice job

What a great game. I've played all the dying light games, this is awesome as well. How have people given this a thumbs down?? its awesome. Such an awesome franchise of games. Up there with the best games ever. Beautiful graphics and plays smooth as silk. Massive open world. I played on PC and it rocked.

Do not recommend. The plot feels like it was written by a child. The characters are completely underdeveloped.

Game is good, 150+ hours, plus another 50+ hours if you have friends who has the same game (dying light 2). DL2 offers a good mechanics gameplay, parkour feels alive, so as the world. With friends, game offers a funny moments and just fun time spend in the game. After completing story line, you have a lot side quests and game plus, that give motivation to reploay the story again. So overall game is 9/10. (On Steam Deck with 90 fov I'm getting 34-40 fps on avarage)

an average zombie open world game that overstays its welcome. nothing is wrong with this game, but nothing special either. the game is ok quality, but this game never ends, it makes me exhausted, i have no reason to keep pushing on. go there, do this, do that. im just sick of painfully boring and time wasting tasks this game offers endlessly. if you like a long game. you may like this game.

Phenomenal game. It really improves on Dying Light 1 with a great story, fun traversal and a massive map to explore. I really enjoyed my time with it. It's impressive how much is packed into this game and it can be played entirely in coop. It's almost a perfect game. The only negatives I can give is the amount of collectables and that many of them are missable. I had one bug where a collectable couldn't be picked up but I was able to join someone else's game and pick it up there. If you're not a completionist then this doesn't matter. 65/65 Achievements unlocked. I give Dying Light 2 a 9.5/10. Play it! :)
