This is not a strategy game, it's simply a clicker game with a map. Resources do nothing, research does nothing, there is no city development. Not worth any time.

Unplayable. The cursor of the game where you drag armies is off screen.

As of this moment i definatly do not recommend this game, for sure not at the full price. The idea behind Legions of Rome is decent. But the execution of it has failed misserable somewhere along the line. # Bugs When switching from Windowed mode to full screen I couldnt even move my cursor etc. #FIXED NOW!! By Developer! # The one soundtrack, gets really badly on your nerves!! # Artstyle seems to be okey at first but everything is re-used instantly. # And Gameplay is extremely repetative. # The AI didnt challange me allot. You might lose the first time but after that you easily know how to defeat them. They also do pretty much the same thing over and over again. As of Now Do NOt buy this game! The might of Rome Is Disgraced by this Game!

This is a game that looks like there is a little something to it, maybe a slightly more complex version of a free browser game, but nothing is hooked up. Every match is the same, adjusting your economy makes no real difference, and the technology, assuming it does something other then boost your meaningless economy by a tiny amout, is useless. Maybe this game will get better with time, but for now, its barely a 1 out of 10

short version: don't buy it. Don't get it, even if its free... long version: 1. buggy. all 2 - 3 battles the game crashes. gray screen with music, but no reaction. only restart helps. So you play a minute, and have to restart. (Win7, in community hub there are similar problems described) 2. cannot complete campaign. if you conquer egypt, there are 3 cities you cannot select for attack. They are too far down on the map. But you are not allowed to attack other cities, you have to follow the campaign. So your world domination is unreachable. 3. boring game... for the battels there are only 3 maps. so after ca. 5 battles you know all maps, and there will be nothing new. The same maps... again... and again... and again... until you reach point 2 and get stuck. 4. stupid AI. not possibility to change difficulty. --> the challenge is not the game. The challenge is to get enough patience to not give up on point 1, until you get stuck in point 2. And this was verry frustrating... -.-

TL/DR This is not a game yet. It appears to be maybe ~60% complete? There is no manual, guide, or tutorial so your first challenge is the figure out what to do. Pity there isn't a Steam Achievement for that. MORE DETAIL In a post in the Discussions, the developer states that the in-game Help system is sufficient. I don't agree with this statement. The in-game help system is 6 screen shots with a poorly phrased sentence or two for each screen shot. There is no mouse-over text or right click context menus. The 6 help screen shots are ALL YOU GET. CONFUSED ON THE DIPLOMACY SCREEN Here's an example from the Diplomacy screen in the Help system (sic): "Each round the relationships has add. How much? It depends on the current relationship". There is a GIFT button for each country and four buttons with 1) a dove, 2) a scroll, 3) a sword, and 4) a wheel (not sure...) You can click around and figure out that the scroll and sword button declare peace and war, which you...

Absolute Krapp of a game. Its a point and click, no strategy, no tactics...its just point and click. Don't let the pictures fool you into thinking this is anything more.

I want to love this game. It has a lot of good things right, but... I sum it all up good in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1vl4rngdaQ&feature=youtu.be Pros: Nice art style Easy to read Somewhat easy to understand gameplay Battle gameplay is really good, reminds me of older flash games. Cons: Music is short and on a loop Hard to get into the game from the start Game softlocks and won't let me concure a second city Can only play as rome. As I said, I want to love this game, but at its current state, the game is not worth your time or money. Sorry developers, you did a good game, but it is far from perfect, or even complete. Final score: 4/10 Shows potential

This game has no help and tooltips. It also doesn't have any animations or transitions. Very few buttons were labeled or had intiuative icons. I'm sure there is a great game hiding behind this rough exterior, but in it's current state I cannot recommend. *I take it back, there is a help menu. The text is nearly unreadable.
