bandai removed cloud saves for some ungodly reason crashes often on scene transitions or loading critical story areas which can cause huge loss of progress and in not so rare cases just delete the entire save itself just emulate the games on PCSX2 rather than playing this water downed mess of a port

Gameplay still boring even with the damage buff. Random dungeons that feel quite pointless. Look at some other reviews. It really loves hyping up certain systems to be important and then undermining them in the next episode; if you spent a lot of time unlocking the unique weapons for each character then *man* are you going to be disappointed. I guess I should talk about the story. Aesthetically .hack//G.U. has that really particular Lain/GiTS/Digimon kinda turn-of-the-millenium chatroom paranoia vibe although on the cheerful side, which is good if you're into that. The near-future setting feels very plausible and is fleshed out by a generous quantity of supplementary lore. Haseo and Atoli are very well-conceived characters driven by certain neuroses. The issue is the plot and pacing. It has a lot of cool and memorable moments which I guess is what got me through it as a kid. Unfortunately "filler episodes" were still a thing when .hack//G.U. came out; there are three (3) tournament a...

When I first played .hack//G.U. back in the PS2 days, I was completely hooked. This was the fantasy for me—being inside a game world, messaging friends, getting emails, surfing a fake internet. It all felt like something out of science fiction at the time. I loved the characters, the world, the concept… everything. I never got to finish the series back then. I made it through the second volume but couldn’t afford to rent the third, so I never saw how it ended. So when Last Recode came out, I jumped on it immediately. Replaying it brought back so many memories. But I also couldn’t stop laughing a little—because the things I once thought were far-off dreams are now pretty normal. Minus physically jacking into a game, of course. As for the gameplay? Yeah, it’s dated. Still fun, but easy to break. I found a way to level up fast early on, and after that, I was coasting through most of the game. The story still holds up, though. It’s engaging, emotional, and the characters a...
