About This Game

Sympathisers from all sides and parties, from newbies to political addicts, whether Bernie-or-bust supporters or GOP voters, or somewhere in between, can now take part in one of the most compelling and controversial election that America has ever witnessed.

“Candidate” players can enter the 2016 presidential race as an actual contender for the White House, or you can join the political fray as real world candidates “Hilda Tilton” or “Ronald Drump” with animated 3D faces and hours of voiceovers by impersonators.

You will need to act and react – swiftly and decisively – just like in the real 2016 campaign Players have total control over their candidacy so you need to deal with lots of face-paced decisions. Candidates establish headquarters, travel the country, set up rallies, deal with super PACs, manage the campaign budget, make TV appearances in debates, and build TV and ad campaigns. Candidates also get to make nearly two hundred campaign promises, but be careful – those promises will impact the deficit! And do not forget to satisfy lobbies, religious communities, or ethnic groups as their votes will be decisive.

Yes, there’s the fun, slimy stuff, too… Dirty tricks have long been a staple of national politics, so The Race for the White House includes spreading scandalous rumors, arranging to have competitors’ campaign cash stolen, giving kickbacks to attract supporters, and sabotaging opponents’ meetings…but be careful because these slimy tactics might backfire and cost you the election.

 • Nearly 20 playable and customizable candidates - Features 3D animated faces and voice imitations of real political personalities
 • Hundreds of policy proposals and playable locations taken from actual political campaigns and agendas
 • Marketing campaign: TV spots, poster campaigns, Internet campaigns, and human billboards

 • Low blows: rumors, fraud, discrediting your opponent... that's politics, too!
 • Continuously appraise statistics and poll results on participating candidates on the game's website!

You have to be a liberal to win. Any conservative policy will lose you votes. Complete one-sided game. Outside of the liberal bias, the game is fun.

This game was made on the Trash Engine 3.0. Not to mention there is absolutley nothing different from 2012, except issues and debate dates. I suggest the Political Machine 2016 over this (it's a better version of the 2016 race and has more real candidates than this game) if you are a political buff I recommend President Infinity by 270soft or Prime Minister Infinity. It is fun to play once if you never played the 2012 version and that's it. It does have 3rd parties but no primaries. It does have all 3 debates but it's responses are limited and they say the same exact thing for each topic, which easily gets real boring fast. Whoever is the voice for Donald Trump is terrible. Yet again the price is double what it should be (that's what Eversim does) All in all I give it a 1.5/10. Should you buy it? You make the call but don't say I didn't warn you when you get to the game's main menu.

When I bought this game, I didn't expect to like it. I expected to buy it, play it for a bit, and see if it's really worth a recommendation. I definitely did not expect to find the "The Room" of election simulators. A game so poorly made, and so blissfully unaware of how godawful it is, that its many failures become entertaining. Sometimes. Eversim is infamous for its ridiculous animated interludes. They are absolutely obsessed with the concept of having these horrifying and ugly 3D models talk to the screen when performing even basic actions. Every speech, rally, debate, and most pieces of news are done this way. It's absurd and pointless, and sometimes nightmarish. It's not just the graphics that suffer, though. The voice acting is just terrible. It sounds like every voice actor is auditioning to be in the next Birdemic movie rather than trying to portray world leaders. Every accent and style is so stiff and forced (if it's even attempted at all) that it's sometimes d...

All in all, this should be DLC for the last game. Nothing changed since the last edition, and running in fullscreen crashes my hdmi port on my computer. Runs smoothly otherwise. Poor voice acting, and drawn out dialog. Read the discussions then pick another polsim. Im not even going to get into the random state swaps in the last couple days. Thumbs down. Also, multiplayer doesn't work.

Concept here is good with these games. This was really lazy IMO. I have the one from 2012 and this should be DLC for that one, or something. Maybe on sale. 4.5/10

If you want to waste some quick cash, feel free. The system this uses to declare a victor is very biased, and does not allow for third parties to even stand a chance at victory, even if you follow up on all the hot-topic issues. This game is complete trash, and a waste of time.
